vihostupdate command syntax

When you use vihostupdate on VCLI, on a windows client, what is the syntax to do operations on local files. The documentation lists - bundle < local_path > rollup.zip

I could test the commands on an ESXI host, but wanted to check the commands running as - list does not interrupt normal operations on the ESXI host.

The following command would work on a windows client:

C:\Program VMware vSphere CLI\bin > vihostupdate.pl - 10.244.104.18 - Server liste--c:\update-from-esxi4.1-4.1_update02.zip bundle

Hello

The syntax is fine.

Note: Migrate all virtual machines and the host must be in maintenance mode before performing the updates.

PL. refer to this document http://pubs.vmware.com/vsphere-4-esx-vcenter/index.jsp?topic=/com.vmware.vsphere.upgrade.doc_41/esx_upgrade/patches_updates/t_host_upgrade_using_vihostupdate_esxi.html

Here are the commands

Query

C:\ >vihostupdate.pl - server - IP address query

List

C:\>vihostupdate.pl --server IP --list
--bundle c:\Temp\update-from-esxi4.1-4.1_update01.zip

Scan

C:\>vihostupdate.pl --server IP --scan
--bundle c:\Temp\update-from-esxi4.1-4.1_update01.zip

Install

C:\>vihostupdate.pl --server IP --install
--bundle c:\Temp\update-from-esxi4.1-4.1_update01.zip
--bulletin ESXi410-Update01

Thank you

  • I'm looking for a list of commands/syntax for number formatting. Example of ^ 1, ^ #, ^ t, etc...

I'm trying to find a list of command/syntax that can be used in number formatting (bullets and numbering - style - dial number field).  I found a few examples, but I keep a list of available commands.  I searched, but was unable to find it.  Presumably, I'm using the wrong search terms.

I don't think, because these are only a few. In the automatic numbering of the paragraph style settings dialog box, you have a drop down menu where you can select the formats that are then entered in the form of these shortcuts.

  • Window___The small flashing command syntax is incorrect__ Intel Viiv__ Settings__Any idea how I can get this to stop? I use Vista. Thank you.

    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

Suddenly, I have a small window constantly, opening and closing very quickly.  I managed to be frozen and could read the following: the URL is C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe
    and the error message is:
The syntax of the command is incorrect

Okay, I think that I fixed it.  I went in the Sys Config, Start Up and unchecked "common SDK-Sonic Solutions/Roxio."  Also not controlled all the other stuff video I don't need at start-up. I then restarted it, of course.  It has been a few hours now and no window flashing.  Roxio is a nice program, but has been a problem on my computer. By auto-off starting this program, it seems to have solved the problem.

  • format specifier syntax - several commands syntax

    Hey guys,.

I know there must have been a post to it, but I can't seem to find it. I have several slna (11) that need to be formatted differently (some are dates MMDDYY, some of the values 0,5555) and then written to a file. I'm using and that's why I need to format it. Here's the format specifier syntax that I use:

    %8.0f %4.0f %5.0f %3.1f %5.2f %4.2f %3.1f %3.1f %3.1f %4.4f %3.2f

When I open the file, this syntax follows all values (and they are not formatted). I hope that there is a glaring error that can be easily resolved.

(PS I tried every different delimiter without result)

    See you soon,.

    Tyler

Hold on to your current code until this idea is implemented (if any):

    http://forums.NI.com/T5/LabVIEW-idea-exchange/separate-format-string-for-each-index-of-array-to-SPRE...

In the meantime, you'll have to individually format the columns to have different formats.

  • for the router privilege command syntax

Have a local installation of user name and pw. then configure private Level0 sh running-config exec.

But we will succeed as 10 lines of sh run when you log in as this user.

Tried to go to level 8 and got the same number of small sh run lines. Any ideas what we're doing wrong. ?

    See online,

One more question-so at the level of the cmd, you are able to access is entirely dependent on who you identify you as and what level (or what the DGM) is / are assigned to that user?

---> Yes, which depends on the level of priv to user and the commnds

Also, I need to check for my client that the previous question is correct and that it applies regardless of the line you come in?

---> Line any here. Regardless of where the same user comes, priv lvl take effect.

Is there an additional granularity that you can assign to the VTY or Con (other than the ACL and access-class)?

    ---> I don't think.

  • How do I give the answers of my modem in a VI after each command that I send it so that I can see and document his actions?

    Hello colleagues LabVIEW'ers!

I created a program that will interview a modem which is connected to the serial port on my pc.  I use the VISA starting functions by the serial port set it up and then I plugged into the function WRITE, then the BYTES to the PORT, then the READ function and finally the CLOSE function.  The problem statement is as follows:

~ How do they give answers of my modem in the VI after each command, I send it so I can see his actions and ultimately to report query out of it?

Furthermore, I don't know if my commands syntax is correct.  Otherwise, I used a program called cygwin interface and a single command, I used is "ssh root@"ipaddress"[enter] This brings me to my modem connection control.  The cygwin command syntax would work with my labVIEW VI? If not, then how can I know what the command syntax to use to query my modem to LabVIEW?

    Additional information

Modem - modem Satellite 'Evolution '.

Version of LabVIEW - Professional 8.6.1

Method of communication - Serial Port

I appreciate all the assistance of those to receive, and I also hope that responses to this question are many who come through it.

It seems that you have some apples and oranges here. Cygwin is a Linux for Windows environment. It gives you a bit of Linux look-and-feel in Windows. SSH is a secure, shell, which is a network protocol, not RS - 232. The serial port is a different interface. It may or may not have the same commands that you use on ssh - the manual will tell you that.

Regarding the serial interface that you want to do, it looks like you want to just do something like what did the old LVTerm . You can give that VI a test to see if it does what you want.

  • Problem with the syntax of the url go

    Hello

I have following problem: a few months ago, I've defined several reports in which I use the 'URL Go syntax' to pass the filters - according to the syntax described in the oracle documentation:integration of Oracle BI presentation Services in business environments by using HTTP and JavaScript - 11 g Release 1 (11.1....) Reports were built on OBIEE version 11.1.1.6.0 and everything worked fine.

    Currently I've migrated to OBIEE version 11.1.1.6.10 and navigation with several parameters command syntax, as for example. "& P1 = 2 + xx126 + xx125 '-does not work! OBIEE 11.1.1.6.10 translate this syntax in '2 xx125 xx126' instead of 'xx125; xx126 ".

Please help me solve the problem.

    GRQ

Srini thanks for your quick response. Unfortunately, you don't understand me well. My problem is: why the syntax (from the Oracle documentation) with several parameters, for example. : "& P3 = n + xxx + yyy +... + zzz ' does not work.

The solution to this problem is to change the "+" on "", so it should look like this "& P3 = n xxx... yyy zzz" ""

  • vihostupdate - how do I specify the Bundle path

    Hello

Have a new configuration of ESXi 4.0 U1 with vMA cluster. Downloaded the bundle of U2 to store data on the local host, but I can't find a way to specify the path to the bundle with the vihostupdate command. I can list the warehouses of data (and local host) with sharp - listds whereby, I see all attached data storage, but I don't know how to specify the path of all.

I understand that ESXi is not "aware of file structure", but there must be a way to do this with the remote hosts.

Anyone can shed some light on this?

    Thank you for your time.

    / r,.

    Smokey

When you use vihostudpate on the vMA, the beam must be local to vMA and not the host ESX (i). All will then be transferred to your host and patched

Here is an example on how to use the vihostupdate utility - http://vm-help.com/esx/esx3i/esx_3i_rcli/vihostupdate.php

  • How can I prevent files are deleted from others?

I have a Mac computer that is used in public, but I'm trying to secure a file to prevent others to remove it. And, if possible, I don't want anyone to open the files. I looked online for solutions; I looked on that you are supposed to put a password on it with a .dmg file using disk utility. I don't want to create a .dmg file, I want the folder itself must be blocked because it is used by other applications. How can I do?

Hi, a useful recommendation is to make all of these invisible files, for that you will need to use the Terminal.

    Here are the instructions:

Launch Terminal from/applications/utilities/and use the following command syntax:

    chflags nohidden /path/to/hide/file.txt

If you know the path to the file just type yourself. If you do not, follow it drag & drop methodto automatically enter the full path in the Terminal, just be sure to file in after the original order and then press the return key:

    chflags hidden [DRAG FILE HERE]

This will hide your folders or files.

    To view these files do:

At any time you can view the file with the following chflags command:

    chflags nohidden /path/to/hide/file.txt

This means that after the stop at using the computer enter these commands on the terminal and hide them. The user after that you won't be able to see them (unless he knows how to view the files, but in this case, it must be specifically looking for your files). And when you return simply enter the command to the unhide them.

If there is a lot of files trying to group them all on a folder, and this folder hiding, which will automatically hide all content

  • "Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error."

I have Windows XP.  Recently, this message appeared when I tried to save my Word documents: "Word cannot complete the save due to a file permission error."  I can always eventally the record via a temporary file, but it's very messy.  "A file permission error" - what on Earth is this?  And what should I do to get things to normal?     Ron Davis, Newcastle N.S.W..

When you press the F8 key and access the Safe Mode start screen, use the arrow keyboard keys to select "Safe Mode with networking" and press the Enter"" key.  A list of startup items you will see on the screen, but after all that, you will get a normal login screen (except the screen may seem bigger than normal and 'Safe Mode' can appear in the corners of the screen.  At this point, log in as any user with administrator privileges.  After successfully login, you should be able to right click on a folder or file and select "Properties".  When the Properties screen, you should have a 'Security' tab at the top.

Another approach is to use the command line command "cacls" to a normal startup that will show and allow you to set permissions on files and folders.  (Start-> Run-> "cmd") and then you can use the cacls command.  The Calc command syntax can be found here:

or you can type: cacls /?

"Cacls" allows to screw things easily and quite bad so if you can switch to the tab 'Security', which is the way to go.

  • Xantrex HPD for LabVIEW 2009 pilot

I saw there are other products OR with drivers for Xantrex HPD feeds.

Someone at - it one that works for LabVIEW 2009 (or earlier)?

    Ok.  I have it.

    HyperTerminal has worked.

He checked that port settings and command syntax is correct.

ALL programs in LabVIEW examples do not have the function of VC to food.  When I hard coded the CR function after the order (also preprogrammed) it worked.  Xantrex (now Sorensen) manual do include SOME simple examples - you just know by experience (catch 22) how do.

Also be noted that we need to send both a voltage and current definition commands because both are zero by default.  (If you send one, nothing SEEMS to happen because the other is 0).  That could also have been included in an example of beginning.

  • In XP, file name may not display symbol (TM), shows a '?

I have a file on a CD I know its file name contains a symbol (TM). But it shows '? "now.
I know that the "?" means that Windows did not recognize this character, which makes the file inaccessible.
Is there anyway to make Windows can recognize the character, or let me copy this file to a place and rename it?

    Hi DHLao,

-What is the content of the CD?
-Can you see the symbol of the file while you try to use the file, or in the browser?
-What exactly happens when you try to copy the file? You receive an error message or error code? If Yes, indicate the same.

TM symbol usually indicates the symbol of trade mark of the manufacturer.

Try to copy the file using the copy of the command at the command prompt and check if you can copy successfully.

    a. Click Start. Click run.
    b. type cmd and press ENTER to open the command prompt.
    (c) in the command prompt, type the command as shown here:

    copy source destination

Use this command to copy a file. In the command syntax, source Specifies the file to copy and destination Specifies the folder or the file name of the new file. You cannot use wildcard characters indicated by an asterisk (*), and you cannot copy a folder. If you copy a compressed file from the Windows installation disk, the file is automatically decompressed while it is copied.

The source of the file can be any folder in the system folders of the current Windows installation, removable media, the root of any drive, the local installation sources, or the Cmdcons folder.

If the destination is not specified, the default location is the current folder. If the file already exists, you are prompted if you want only the file copied to replace the existing file. The destination cannot be removable media.
