Voltage supply 2 NOR 9870 Modules + cRIO9074

Hello

IST is possible to connect the power supply of 2 Modules of NI 9870 and cRIO9074 by a single NI PS15 power supply? There are two connections to (+) and two for the (-). In the normal case, just 2 devices. Can I use a single location for 2 drivers (e.g. two modules of NI9870)?

Kind regards.

I don't think that you will need to isolation of the side OR equipment, but you could on the devices that you connect the modules in. In general, you should not isolation, but again this depends on what you connect to.

  • Acquisition of the voltage with the NI 9206 module

    Hello

I use a module NI 9206 with a CRIO-9081 to get 14 acquisition of voltage from 0.4V to 5.8V using the mode of CSR.

Then I plug the 14 to the module of the AI0 of entry I 15. When I connect the first 12 pins, I get the good acquisition but when I connect the two last pole, the tension of the first two (pin AI0 and AI8) traditionally of 0.4V and that's what I don't understand.

I tried to remove the two first entry, but then the two following voltage increase of 0.4V.

That's why I wonder if I forgot something, why the first entry increase and if someone already has mett something similar.

  • How to power supply of NOR-DAQmx PCI-6071e using Visual C++?

Hello, I am a first year student Bachelor do a team project for school and I am completely stuck. The laboratory on campus has allowed us to use their PCI of NOR-DAQmx-6071e card and the school provides free Visual Studio 2008. We try to grasp the card voltage levels in Visual C++, but we do not know what code to use. In addition, we cannot buy Measurement Studio Professional (or a standard, incidentally). Can someone explain please how to read voltage levels? Code example would be much appreciated.

There is a sequence of function calls required to create a task.  This document goes through the steps needed to include in a job.  When you install the DAQmx driver, the examples are also installed and can be found as described here.  It will take a few changes to ANSI C examples to use in Visual C++ that are described here.  Hope this helps!

  • Nor given DAQ Assistant District recognize a USB chassis and modules, but does "Measure."... »

I use Labview 2012 full development and a chassis 8 slots cDAQ-9188 with nor-9203 (current), OR-8205 (voltage), OR-9213 (thermocouples) and NOR-9485 modules (switch) are installed.  Measurement and Automation Explorer, network devices, recognizes the chassis and modules installed, evidenced by the serial numbers of each poster. I downloaded DAQmx 9.6.1.  District data nor DAQ Assistant acknowledges that the chassis or modules.  So far, I don't think I'm confused, but I am.

Thanks, Marand.  As I wrote in the post, MAX recognized 9188 Chassis network devices and modules installed in the right-a panel cites.  District data nor Assistant recognized DAQ chassis or modules.  The solution was incredibly simple, but subtle.  CompactDAQ chassis and modules connected to the computer via the USB port are automatically recognized, and it is what I expected.  However, the 9188 is an Ethernet chassis;  While the chassis has been recognized on 'Network', I had to choose "Add Device" to have MAX recognize modules. Just by clicking on this option filled the tree.  All is well now.  I must tell you the steps you suggested are exactly those suggested by an engineer from disks OR I've met.  It was during this conversation that I proposed by selecting "Add Device" just because we had tried everything else.  Thanks again for your help...

  • Module AO trigger using PFI on the cDAQ-9188

I use a cDAQ-9188 chassis with an AO (NOR-9264) module.  Is it possible to configure a PFI (channel on the frame) as an input signal to synchronize an AO channel with the trigger?  Here's what I'm trying to do.  I need a channel on the AO module to switch voltages in sync with the trigger when the user "push a button".  So once the button is pressed, the channel of the AO will not change until the next trigger pulse.

    Ben

    Hello Ben

I hope you are well.  The consensus is that it is possible.  Have you tried this yet?  If so, can you tell me what you have tried and how you made a lot of progress?  I recommend the following VI example: Cont Gen tension Wfm - Ext Clk.vi.  Are you able to get all the functionality you are looking for this VI.  It was recommended that I'm showing you this.  We find this VI under help--> find examples and then material input output &--> DAQmx-->--> voltage analog generation.

Please let me know how you are progressing and if you have need of all aspects of this example explained.  Thanks for choosing National instruments!

  • Satellite A-C55-1JL - compatibility with the ram module

I want to upgrade the RAM in my Toshiba C55-A-1JL. Standard module is Hynix PC3L bitensión 4 GB. But on the slot, I saw the text "1.5V. I bought the 4 GB of Kingston module with identical parameters as Hynix module, only the voltage is different. Kingston module is only 1.5V voltage.

My question is: what voltage supports the mainboard that laptop? Can I use this add-on from Kingston with original Hynix ram module?

    Standard module's voltage Hynix PC3L

This means that the module supports 1.35v or 1.5V

Can I use this add-on from Kingston with original Hynix ram module?

In the worst case if you use the not entirely compatible RAM module, the laptop does not start up... try it

  • Voltage change of reference (PGA) of NI USB 6008 in Matl

    Hello

I'm looking for the solution change the voltage reference usb6008 nor in MATLAB.

Referring to the manual, the reference voltage can be changed by setting the PGA (programmable gain amplifier). There is a brief description in the manual, which can't help me ("The PGA gainis automatically calculated according to the voltage selected in the application range of the measure.)

Does anyone know how can I change the PGA in MATLAB?

Input voltage range is set to [10-10] and I want to change it to [1-1] to get a better resolution for small voltage. The InputType is differential

    Hi Kia

You can change the reference voltage by adding following function in your C code:

    Int32 DAQmxCreateAIVoltageChan (TaskHandle taskHandle, const char physicalChannel [], const char nameToAssignToChannel [], int32 terminalConfig, float64 minVal, maxVal, int32 units, const char customScaleName [] float64);

With the minVal and maxVal settings, you can manually set your tension.

Of course, I am available for more reminders.

    Best regards

  • can I connect the outputs analog of a DAQ configuration in series to have the highest voltage source?

    Hello guys,.

My question is provided in the topic, you have an idea about that? your help is appreciated.

    ELA

    Hi Ela,

For almost all devices supported by DAQmx, you can't. When all AO channels have the same motive, connecting them in series would be short the output channel on the ground, which is bad.

However, there is one exception: the SCXI-1124 module has channel-to-channel isolation, which allows channels to be cascaded to output voltages: I can cascading the output voltage of an SCXI-1124 module?

With channel-to-Earth isolated peripheral (such as NI 926 x or NI 623 x), you can cascade multiple devices together, but not multiple channels on the same device.

  • cDAQ Module Question

    Hello

I currently have the following equipment:

    cDAQ-9178

    OR-9401

    OR-9219

I use the module OR 9401 to drive the output PWM signals is calculated by a PID controller in two controlled thermal systems.  I use the NOR-9219 module to measure temperature, such as remote sensing by thermistors.  These temperature values are used in my PID controller to calculate the error.

I am now interested in measuring a number of other temperatures on my device using thermocouples (these temperatures are necessary only - no controller action based on them).  9219 module is ideal for my PID controller, that I can use to detect the very precise Thermistors, but it has only 4 entries.  I'm considering adding a NI 9213 Module to my setup to activate the additional analysis that I need...  My question is this - this module will be compatible with my setup?  for example can I simultaneously run two analog modules (9219 & 9213)?  Is it reasonable to try to make the PID regulation and this extra temperature monitors simultaneously?

Thanks in advance for your comments!

    See you soon!

    Hello JB_1,

What is are describing is undoubtedly reasonable and feasible with the hardware you have.  9178 has several Motors synchronization to analog input, so you can configure separate tasks for two different modules if you want to acquire simultaneously and at different rates.

  • A better way to make a continuous read/write on a NOR-6008

    Hello

I use a USB of NOR-6008 module and have a loop of the software configuration where I acquire analog signals, digital signals, then, then put a digital high or low and repeat. I use digital multiplex outside the material so that I can use 6 of the analog inputs to read 12 signals. The digital inputs that I have are connected to the buttons on a panel that are used for the entry instead of the screen of the computer of the user. My loop is also to build a buffer zone of all the signals on the analog and digital lines that I read in so I can on average and this process elsewhere in the program.

The question that I am running is because this loop is very slow and on the final product is performed on a touch screen, XP Embedded PC and just this acquisition loop begins again as much CPU as the rest of my program. I would say that drops of loops on 4 or 5 cycles per second, which means that my update of 2 multiplex signals or longer than a second time. I would really like to better performance and does not use as much of my CPU resources.

I use a way simple enough to make the loop of the acquisition, by setting the parameters I, reading, deleting the task, defining the parameters DI, read, erase the task and then by setting the parameters, write about it and delete the task, which gives a slight delay and repeat.

Any thoughts on a better way to start the read/write that what I'm doing?

I have attached the code examples in the loop of the acquisition that I use.

    Thank you!

First of all, the best plan is to move the chain DAQmx before the loop to create and use a start DAQmx, then write in the loop, then clear once the loop ends.  This configuration must be done once, not every time you write the channel.  This should speed things up considerably.

    Concerning

    Bing

Thank you Christian for your quick replay.

I have some experience in programming of microcontroller with C. I learned LABVIEW for about 1 month and followed a lot of demons in line and tutorials. I know that nodes DAQmx Data Acquisition screws and fundamental property.

As I said at the beginning on the $line0, lin1and line2, they serve to control the relay in my circuit. 10ms could be controlled with the OS clock. Pulse of line3 series is used for IGBT gate signals, which is the critical moment. I want to use the clock machine to accurately control line 3 and synchronize at the same time the pulse with analog inputs from an another two NI9206 modules in the same cDAQ chassis.

I just want to know more on the digital line demand signal relay output and a correlation between the line of analog input-synchronized finished pulse output. Waveform diagram is locked.

    Thank you.

  • Looking for set up the NI 9233 module, well through which bus?

I'm a bit new to conducting analysis of vibration at high speed... I see a ton of information on the programming side of things software, although my main concern now is getting the correct 1st place material.

Right now my apron for the acquisition of data consists of the following: 1) a main office or a laptop with a LabVIEWsoftware platform that integrates a live view of bench test-data acquisition & control, as well as analyses of multiple entries of aircraft during and after the test.  Joined this office/computer laptop peripheral multiples are the following:

    1) dedicated output options control & daq device with 2 semi-PLC data: a) medium... Data USB 1 sample per second... it is for read-only purposes, & b) CAN input/output... 10 samples per second output of data and allows a command input from the desktop/laptop via a CAN of NOR-8473 USB converter.

    (2) NI DAQ hardware entered via MAX configuration.

My main concern is that I don't want to create a bottleneck for the input of vibration DAQ data.  If I'm looking for a sampling up to 5 000 samples per second max and 200 samples per second minimum for vibration analysis, will I be able to get this amount of data per second using the NI 9233 module through the USB configuration?  I have several USB devices connected to the desktop/laptop PC computer (such as the other USB DAQ modules input/output) will limit these the input of the speed of the NOR-9233 module?

My next concern is to know how to set up my present VI during the execution taking all the entries data acquisition (which some 1-sample per second, others to 10 samples per second)... when I start taking at a sampling frequency of 5 kHz for the diagnosis of vibration, to, I just average on the other zeros that will be read from other devices?  And then I'll most likely need to add another temporal loop controlled to allow only once 4 / per second output outside remote so no timeout for this device.

What would be more efficicent this setup for the 9233 module that I could use in a satisfactory manner?  USB, PXI, CRIO?

Also, is the Sound & Vibration Analysis toolkit useful?  I didn't check yet but it it has a cost of deployment for each executable?

    Thank you.

I thiink you'll be suprrised with high speed USB features.  For example, when we went out first with CompactDAQ, we put 8 the 9233 modules in a chassis and down them to full (32 channels at 50kSA/sec).

If you have a laptop dual core, with good USB 2.0 ports, you can use a port for the USB - CAN (which is relatively slower), the PLC is a slow sweep (100 Hz or more) and then a Compact DAQ chassis for all your stuff really high speed, you should be fine.

It is difficult to reference without having the full application.  My experience suggests all data enter the PC will be the easy part.  How you manage and analyze the data will determine how much control you are able to do.

  • Measurement of current and voltage on Agilent B1505A

    Hi all

I'm learning to program the Agilent b1505A using LabView.  I want to just start with a simple measure of a voltage supply and reading/measure of the voltage and current.

I was able to analyze the data and apply tension without and the problem.  However, I can't understand how to check the voltage and the current.  I can get it only to record one or the other.

I don't know how to know everyone is with Flex Agilent controls.  When we look through the manual, I see that there is a CMM order that sets the mode of operation of EMS measure.  I put it in mode 4, which measures both, but it still does not work.

Anyone who is familiar with the use of LabView to parameter program Agilent analyzers?

I got my code and the manual of the order of Flex of Agilent.

    Thank you.

I think I found my problem!

It is in the FMT command that specifies the format of data output.

    Thank you.

  • Using DAQ Assistant to read voltage of 9205

I am new Nock in it and I tried to read the voltage level of 9205 relating to 9172. I use it in XP mode virtual because windows 7 does not have labview 8,9. I installed the drivers for data acquisition.

When I check the meter in automation and Explorer, it works very well which means it reads im DC voltage supply. When I created a VI facilitate data acquisition, I chose the right channel, the entry as analog voltage, the numeirc indicator shows it is-10 to 10. I noticed he did the same thing, even once the USB is disconnected, which means that the function helps daq was not save the data of the 9205.

    Can someone help me?

    Hi aaclabview,

The way in which you have added the device to MAX makes the device act as a simulated instrument. Simulated instruments only generate sine wave data to test a piece of code without using any material. A simulated device has the icon yellow as shown in the screenshot you provided and are completely dissociated from any material, so add or remove the usb device has no effect.

The problem with the help of Windows XP mode as mentioned in the above KB is the USB transfer must be enabled for the measurement and Automation Explorer inside the Virtual Machine detect the device. Using the unit in this way is not supported or recommended by National Instruments and can lead to instability and the latency of the errors in the acquisition of data even if a connection is established.

It is a more sure bet to try and install LabVIEW and hardware drivers DAQ as described above on the real Windows 7 machine to try and run inside the XP mode.

  • Heat source connected to power supply continuous

I am currently trying to simulate a circuit with different op amps connected together. Input voltage, that I use to start amplifier is a low voltage supply. My problem arises when I want to induce noise in the input voltage. I tried to use the source of THERMAL_NOISE connected to the DC supply, similar to two different power supplies in parallel. However, when I try to run the simulation I get an error of convergence. The circuit works quite well with just the DC source or just the source of thermal noise. When connected together, something goes wrong. Someone at - it never had a similar situation or know a good work-around? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you have two sources n parallel, it can cause the error of convergence is a SPICE.  To correct the problem add a little resistance at between sources.

I do not think that the noise source will make a difference in this case, most of the SPICE models model noise.
