• TouchSmart 520 TV tuner stopped working

  I have a 1190EA Touchsmart 520. I have recently upgraded to Windows 8 to 8.1 Windows and now the TV tuner stopped working. I've already used Windows Media Center to watch TV. I ran install MCE and windows MCE is unable to find all channels. My TV card is an Avermedia A859.

  I tried everything to fix the problem without success. I suspect that the card is is most recognized in the PC and have tried to find a driver windows 7 or 8 for the card A859. I was not able to locate a driver from the sites, including the Avermedia and HP. The only thing I could find is on the HP site where there is a patch TV card 'channel search fix' for Windows 7. I tried running it, but it returns a "HP not compatitibility" error message during the installation.

  I also tried to install other programs of TV tuner (no windows MCE) to see if these would work. These don't work and I think that they are not detect any signal. Yet once this leads me to think that the TV card needs a driver.

  If anyone can help here it would be really appreciated.

  If you are sure that this problem is not related to the defective battery, then it must be a problem of laptop computer at 100%.
  Who knows why the battery may not charge maybe there is something wrong with the motherboard or only some pins of the battery are not connected correctly.

  What is the battery LED lights up when you insert the battery into the device and unplug the AC adapter?

  If not then that would mean that the battery is not recognized and this would mean that there is something wrong with the laptop

  Hello. I got the Tecra R850-520 4 months. from the beginning, I have the same problem - noisy fan but no load cpu (about 2-4%) using win7 and win8 64bits

  I tried to change the windows profile to optimize or energy saving. but I still get the fan noise. Set the bios to 3.90. I have re-checked windows 8. and always the pleasure is strong. When no cpu is used.

  Notepad is cool - so I don't know where is the problem. It's probably bad driver for ACPI or for measuring the temperature. I tried to change the position of the laptop - and I found two metal plate on the bottom.

  I think that it is a measure of temperature sensors. When I flip the laptop, and the plates are "we air ', not touched by any material - the fan will slow down in a few minutes.

  Could someone tell if no pleasure of speed will work? or maybe Toshiba updates the bios or drivers for it eventually?

  Changes in the operating system:
  --> Power Options control panel--> change the parameters of plan--> change power avancΘs--> TOSHIBA Power Saver Settings--> cooling method

  Changes in the Bios (power management):
  Intel Turbo boost Technology

  Changes in the operating system:
  TOSHIBA HW Setup--> the CPU frequency mode

  Try this settings:
  Plan (Toshiba power save) optimised battery
  Technology Intel Turbo Boost (BIOS) - disable
  The CPU always low frequency

  From my experience, this should reduce the noise.

  follwing problem:
  Tecra R950 with Intel SSD and HDD/SSD series 520 passes together = always F4 BSOD after activation of the standby mode.
  OK with no password set.
  OK with Hibernate.
  Same problem with iastor and msahci driver.

  Any ideas? Think it's a problem with the bios. He goes down the ssd when wakeup, same cannot write a dump of memory (error 0xc0000010), the necessary cold start-up.

  Problem solved. Upgrade to Windows 8.1 led automatically to replace the AMD display driver. After you have reinstalled the driver for sp59361 issue has disappeared. "Sleep" mode functioning normally.

  I have IC Recorder ICD-520 model number song, and for the life of me I can't get the computer to recognize the device or the software.

  I have Windows Vista and I downloaded the Digital Voice Editor software on sony's site, which is supposed to be compatible with my device. I installed the software and then plugged in the device and the software gives me this error when I try to select series ICD - PX of the fall of memory stick menu drop-down:

  "Could not contact IC Recorder"

  My computer always tries to make me download drivers for recorder everytime I connect it so, and I keep hitting cancel because the software is supposed to include drivers, right? I couldn't find the drivers anywhere else.

  In Device Manager, the recorder is listed in the "other devices" section as a "recorder Sony IC (P)" and the icon is the warning signal yellow because there is no driver.

  Someone, please guide me on the right track. I'd like to get this thing works with my computer.

  Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction? It has been a few days.

  I have a SmartTouch 520-1020 which worked fine until I upgraded to Win10. No PC does not start correctly. I tried to reinstall Win 7 64-bit via the disk and the partition that has the operating system on it inadvertently allowed. I created a new Win10 recovery disk using the download of recovery, but wanted to know if there is a way to access and run the recovery partition which is always on the PC, even if the primary partition is disabled?

  Sorry to be the bearer of bad news - but more likely--DO NOT.

  The update of Win10 has a bad history of corrupt recovery OEM as part of the upgrade information, and if that happens, without recovery OEM will work.

  What will work restores your computer to its original factory state using HP recovery media.  It is a DVD and CD set that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.
  
  You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers
  
  Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.

  It will be a little long because I try to give as much detail as possible. I have a desktop HP Touchsmart 520. The other day, I want to run an OS based on Linux from a USB key. I did once before, so I did what I did the last time. I unplugged, take off the back, then removed the hard drive, then plugged the USB key. I was hoping that since I didn't drive hard in, the computer would then operate the stick because of the boot order. He did bring up the screen of the OS, but gave me an error on failure. I turned it off and then return and go to the bios to change the configuration. I found the USB from the menu, but couldn't move, so I tried to disable the first option for the hard drive. I plugged the USB back in, but it does not still work, so I tried to drive hard back. Something happened somewhere in all this, the computer froze, so I tried to hit different buttons to see if I could get an answer, but nothing, so I cut. When I cut back on, I can't no longer to enter the BIOS. The usual HP screen comes up and says press ESC to enter on the start menu, and if I hit him in the first second coming he will take me to a black screen that has my computer on this subject record, starting with the processor type, processor speed, etc. (if I hit any button in a moment the computer hangs on the HP screen). This black screen is as far as I can go and the computer always crashes here, no matter what button I push, but it is said in the lower right corner of the activity for any button I pressed on, for example if I press F2 on the HP screen, it will go to the black screen with my characteristics and in the lower right It will read Diagnostics; If I am pressing F10, it will do as above but read the configuration. He never goes beyond this screen.   seems that there is a corruption of the bios. First try to make BIOS clear CMOS. He must go, unplug the power supply, open it on the back and to remove the RTC (real time clock) battery for a couple miutes and then turn the unit and go to the bios and load bios defaults.   Note that this operation to be experienced user but you wrote that you have disconnected the HARD drive, you have already opened the unit if you wait is at the level to do so.

  If the RTC cmos clear won't help, report back and we will help you make bios flash BACK.
