  • Need guidance in the workforce planning

    Hi all

    I'm working on the project, where I create forms of data in the workforce planning. I also read staff of Oracle Hyperion planning Administrator's Guide. My question is can someone help or guide me to create types of my plan?

    I can create dimensions of navigation > Administration > Dimensions > Add Dimensions

    I can create forms of navigation data > Administration > forms of data management > Create

    In light of issues I have confusion on sub...

    1 I know there is data pre-build forms... so, how can we change and use them for loading data? I can understand, we can load load SUN or utility contour data but how can load us data manually?

    2. What is the relationship between a Dimension and data forms that I mentioned up there? If I create Dimensions, we can work or data forms or is there any other philosophy?

    3. how to increase the lines and columns in these forms of data and what are the areas for HR?

    I learned to create two-dimensional, i.e. officials and positions. I can create those Dimensions as I mentioned above the steps, but what kind of parents and children that I need and how do I load these dimensions in actual data forms.

    I hope a positive response...

    Thank you very much in advance for helping me understand this labor... I'm really new staff please help...

    Thank you

    Looks like you're new to the workforce not planning only.

    Question 1, you can enter data through forms, you can enter data via smart view or the excel add-in, you can load the data directly into essbase data using the rules of charge, charger contour or ODI. You can change the shapes and design them to how you want to watch.

    Dimensions and members are displayed in the forms, you create forms and select which members of the size you want in the forms.
    You will neeed to create members first before you create with them in the forms.

    I'm not sure I understand the question 3, if you want more rows/columns you add more members or use a function such as descendants (membername)

    I would suggest really you a reading of the planning admin documentation before moving on market work or training for planning.

  • Formula 'Status' of workforce planning

    In the workforce planning, the formula of 'Status' has a few lines that don't make sense to me. I wonder if anyone knows what this code is trying to accomplish.

    Here's the formula of Member:

    IF (@ISDESC ("new employees"))
    IF ('BegBalance'-> 'Start month'! = #MISSING)
    IF (0 == 0)
    IF ("Cal-TP-Index" > = 'BegBalance "->" Start month')
    'Status' = 1;
    ENDIF
    ELSE IF (("BegBalance"-> "Démarrer le mois"-0) > 0)
    IF (' Fiscal TP-Index ' > = ('BegBalance "->" start month' - 0))
    'Status' = 1;
    ENDIF
    ELSEIF ("Fiscal TP-Index" > = ('BegBalance "->" start month' + 12-0))
    'Status' = 1;
    ENDIF
    ENDIF
    ON THE OTHER

    In the third row, the code seems to say... "If zero is equal to zero. This section is followed by two ELSEIF clauses. When no one would be NOT equal to zero, and how these ELSEIF clauses would never run? Am I misinterpreting the code?

    Thank you!
    -Jake

    Hey Jake,

    Take a look at page 81 in the Admin of workforce of 9.3 Planning Guide at:
    http://download.Oracle.com/docs/CD/E10530_01/doc/EPM.931/wfp_admin.PDF

    I'm guessing that you are looking at the formula in Essbase and not in the planning. Planning, we should have something like
    If ([FiscalOffset] == 0)...

    As part of planning for deployment to Essbase she changed to reflect the shift of January based on a fiscal year not starting in January.

    Please let me know if you have any other questions.

  • Setting up the workforce planning

    Hello

    We have an obligation to put in place a planning that is a requirement of the day 2 of the workforce.

    1. can create a normal planning application and then convert it to a workforce planning? If so, how?
    2 have we not create a separate Plan with the workforce planning selected type when creating the application, implement the planning of labor?
    3 Prereqquisites for the manpower planning?

    Help, please

    Hello

    1. can create a normal planning application and then convert it to a workforce planning? If so, how?
    Rep. : you can have a separate planning application and customize it to planning by creating your own labour
    dimension custom as an employee etc. But you cannot convert in workforce planning that comes with the installation of vanilla from planning.

    2. don't we have create a separate Plan with the workforce planning selected type when creating the application, implement the planning of labor?
    Rep. : You don't have to create the type of separate plan for labour. When you select labor during the creation of the planning application
    and initialize after the creation of the app, it will automatically create the actual cube plan type or of the active population of Essbase for her.

    3. prerequisites for the manpower planning?
    Rep. : No configuration required, you can see the workforce_admin guide to learn more about the workforce planning.

    Thank you

  • Hyperion workforce planning

    Dear gurus

    I'm new to Hyperion Workforce Planning, I read the document from the admin. I have some doubts
    (1) where to add details of employee base?
    (2) can add us custom data forms for attributes? If so, please share the steps.

    (3) I have successfully configured the calculation Manager, but failed to initialize the application if I take the calculation Manager when creating application.

    Help, please.

    Hello

    To create the Employee dimension and associate attributes such as Race, gender etc. to the employee.
    Step 1: first create the dimension of the attribute with the members in the planning application for Race, gender etc. and associate them with the Employee Dimension.
    step 2: create the .csv for employee of 1000 that load into the planning application.
    This file will have all the columns as
    Example:

    Parent, employee, Alias: by default, storage data, aggregation (Wrkforce) attribute.
    'Existing employee', XYZ, XYZ, store, + male.

    Use the preview utility load to load the employees under Parent "employees". In this way, you can load the metadata for
    your Employee dimension and also your attribute will be associated at the same time. Once your dimension or the metadata for the employee gets loaded.
    You can then load the data for employees.

    Hope you understand...

    Thank you

  • Re-initialize the workforce planning

    Hello

    We use the Classic 11.1.2 application. Workforce planning was purchased during the initialization of the project. Total 3 possibilities of use and 4 types of diet (PL, Rev, salary and manpower planning) in each application. After you initialize the request once of the workforce planning on the one hand demand, the workforce planning has been abandoned so all forms and related content has been removed from this planning application (the essbase cube and relational databases is still there).

    How we can reset it? The initialization option under administration - boot is not visible in this application. 2 other applications always have the option to initialize the workforce planning. Do we not have to recreate the application?

    Thanks in advance.

    I advise to do, however if you are still interested, here's the link Oracle - Hyperion Labs...: re - initialize the Capex and labor

  • Workforce Planning - use of generic Dimensions in the variable Designer

    Hi gurus

    I am currently working on an application of workforce planning.

    I'm working on a script by transfer of an employee to a cost center to an entity in another Centre of cost in an entity.

    I then go to variable designer to modify the variables 'DepartmentFrom' and "DepartmentTo", in the hope of seeing the Dimension cost center and entity

    Then, I discovered that I can't select a generic dimension, in which my dimension 'Cost Centre' is a generic type.

    Only the standard types are available; Account, currency, entity, period, script, Version, year.

    Is it possible that I can make a generic dimension available when selecting the dimension type in the variable Designer?

    Please help, this may affect my dimension model in my application of workforce planning.

    Thank you!

    You can create the Variables to the application or database level instead of create Global Variables.

    At the level of the application or database, you will get the option to select the dimensions of the custom in the Variables.

  • Workforce planning application

    Hi, I am looking for the documentation of the application of predefined workforce planning. I need to understand all of the predefined functions, formulaes for members, and it is for version 11.1.1.3.

    Can someone help to give me the link for documentation.

    Thanks in advance...

    The document that is the closest you'll find comes from the 9.3.1
    See http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E10530_01/doc/epm.931/wfp_admin.pdf

    They do not produce this exact document for future versions. He has not really changed much since 9.3.1 in 11.1.1.3

  • all the people of the Hyperion have access to salary information in Workforce Planning

    Most workforce planning applications store the names of employees and their salaries.
    However, a friend of consultant very known/seasoned categorically stated that private employee information not be loaded in planning / Essbase. It suggests that we should explain to lawyers in our HR and legal department, what we try to do and most likely they will not allow the information private to be exposed to Riverbed managers and planners. He says that even the names of the employees are not planning / Essbase, we should charge them as employee1, employee2 etc. Only HR should have the real names of the employee1... employee5000.

    Anyone can weight with their opinions as to whether it is a good idea to store salary information in Essbase? A simple mistake in the Essbase security implementation could expose pay for bad budget managers. In addition, all the people of the Hyperion have access to salary info. Is this 'kosher' with companies in the United States?

    Essbase Fan,

    I can speak only from my experience and I've been in the private, public and not for profit. Employee and salary information usually remain within the pay system. I don't think it's if the data longer in Essbase specifically as the users who access Essbase as you had mentioned on security.

    In addition also the Essbase administrator would have access to all salary information. So the question arises is the Essbase administrator and payroll the same people? If this isn't the case, you have now more than one person with knowledge of sensitive information.

    Loading data as ' employee 1' with salary 5000' is not really hide the data because the specific planners are likely to pine point by the amount. "

    What we do when we analyze the salaries one transactional and OLAP (essbase) methods is to summarize information on the salary by office and send to the analytical tool. In this case the sum your salary by office/division/region information, and then import into Essbase to do your analysis of planning in this way.

    Although it shows how each office has he can't pin wages highlight what makes each person.

  • Cannot select Capex and Workforce Plan type when I create a new application

  • restrict the planning Admin see all Essbase calc scripts

    Hi - I have a few ppl who are administrators on planning, and they see all my calc scripts in Essbase. Is it possible to block to see? I have these calc scripts to run things they did not need to run.

    I use planning 3.5.1 Essbase 6.5

    Thank you
    Cindy

    Hi Cindy,.

    I guess that calc scripts you want to block from are planning to the Admin in the applications they are directors of the correct?

    The only way I can think to do is to put them in another directory on the server or on a share, you have access to and use them for Esscmd scripts run in a batch function.
    for example
    RUNCALC 3 C:\SERVER_DIR\mycalcs\calc

    Assuming the directory were on your essbase server and you plan this on your essbase server.

    This assumes that your Admins planning have not access to your Essbase server. Of course, if it were UNIX path to the script would be different.

    You may also only have the scripts on your local computer.

  • Security planning - Admin sees gray zone of online form

    Hi - I used an admin account to create my new planning application. I look under the users and the Group and I see my account as the owner. I create a form online, all I use are lev0, but when I try to enter data, I get a box that says "this cell is read-only. When I do get one in Excel and lock it and send data, I am able to. When I return in the form online, I see that I've locked and send (from Excel), but the cells are grayed out. What Miss me?

    Thank you

    Hello

    1. check if the Member is stored. No Member should be dynamic calc
    2. check if the script is in the valid range of period "start year/start/end of period period from the end of the year.
    3. check if the form is not set explicitly to 'Read only' in the definition of the form

    Let me know if it helps.
