WRT150N

I apologize if this was covered before, but here's my problem:

BEFSR41 router/switch, the IP 192.168.1.1, connted to the dsl line.

Output of 1 lan port wan port of WRT150N with ip address set to 10.200.100.1

I discovered since it is incorrect

However, it is up until week last apparantely work, offering a connection to a laptop plugged into the lan of the WRT150N port.  Now the WRT150N wireless signal continues to be normal, but the laptop no longer responds and the power light on the WRT150N flashes.  A power cycle clears up the problem temporarily, but returns.

Should I reset the WRT150N and set IP 192.168.2.1, disabled DHCP, subnet mask 255.255.255.0.  Any other than 192.168.1.1 ip address work?

Thanks in advance

It is not necessary for you to change the address IP of the WAP, WAP default IP is 192.168.1.254 as his in the routers IP address range. You just need to configure the settings on the WAP wireless.

  • WRT150N access restrictions does not

    Good day everyone.

I read the messages that are similar to my problem in the forum, but none of the suggested solutions solved my current dilemma.

I use a WRT150N with firmware v1.00.5. I have a setup of Linux with Squid, connected to the network with the modem router 192.168.23.254. The WRT150N has a gateway of 192.168.23.1. The WRT150N is also connected to an Apple Base Station that serves as a Point of access for users of WiFi.

Squid limits access to the IP addresses listed under the passerelle.254. But once I change my gateway to 23.1, everything is accessible. I want to block sites as well as on the WRT150N. But whenever I try to put a new restricted access, it does not work.

I put in the IP addresses on which to apply this restriction:

It ignores addresses is because addresses are reserved. I click on save settings here and I save the settings again on the home page.

Whenever I try to test on the addresses given, I can still access the pages. Is there something that I am missing?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Try to update / re Flash the firmware of your router.

Connect computer with the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the router.

Download the firmware on the Linksys site.

    Open the router configuration page.

Go to the tab Administration and go to the update of the Firmware tab sub.

Browse and select the downloaded firmware and update the firmware.

After the upgrade of the firmware reset and reconfigure the router settings manually.

And see if that helps you.

  • WRT150N disconnection * SOLVED + SOLUTION *.

IMy Linksys WRT150N recently dropped on me and started giving me weird problems and started to disconnect (all ports including Cable & Wireless) anywhere from 3 to an infinite number of times a day, and my only solution is to remove the power cord and plug. I tried all possible means, including the reset of the router, SSID broadcast showdown, remove encryption, etc., but not worked. As the router was out of warranty, my only option was to take it to the dealer where they said it would take three weeks to fix and God knows how they would have charged me. But after Flash with dd - wrt firmware it has been almost 24 hours without a single problem and now I have the cool option to see who is connected to the router, etc. It is a MUST for any owner of Linksys. I am happy to help someone with this problem and I was really upset with the support of Linksys, which do not seem to have a solution for this until this DD - WRT!

    1. reset the router using the 30-30-30 and waited 2 minutes that things return to normal 2
2 flashed the router with "JJ - wrt.v24_mini_generic.bin.
3 reset using 30-30-30 and wait again
4 flashed the router with "JJ - wrt.v24_std_generic.bin.

Means both the router will be connected with the ethernet cable, but it help to signal the extended... For that, you must follow the following procedure:

If you want to connect the second router [WRT150N] by LAN connection to LAN...

In this case do the same wireless settings...

    Change address router IP 192.168.1.X

Then turn off the DHCP server...

If you want to connect through a LAN to WAN connection...

In this case do the same wireless settings...

Change the IP address of the router to 192.168.X.1

  • NAT on XBOX 360 with WRT150N problems

    Hey guys,.

For some reason, we had some problems with our NAT type for our xbox. We have a good (green) connection, but the NAT type always appears as "moderate." Right now, we use the (configured for the xbox) standard wireless card to connect to our router (WRT150N).

I tried power cycling, manually enter the IP address, mask and gateway, but nothing has worked... any suggestions?

Generally a moderate NAT problem is due to two devices on a network running NAT.  Your router is probably related to the ISP device providing NAT service.  East - similar to the configuration of your network?

To remedy this, you can put your modem in Bridge mode device, which will require a little research according to the make and model.

An easier way to get around this problem is to configure your network so that your router runs only as a switch.  You will need to attach the modem to the router's LAN port and keep the unused WAN port and turn off DHCP on the router.

If you have already taken steps to eliminate any other NAT device, you can view more details about your ISP, networking and other components and maybe get a little more help.

  • WRT150N died?

    Hi all

The other day I lost the internet connection in my house. After that some playing around, I found that it was my router (a WRT150N) because I could connect directly from a computer to a cable modem. Now, my router still works in many ways - I can connect, change settings, etc. - but he refuses to connect the cable modem or beyond. Release/renew DHCP does not work (everything is just 0.0.0.0) and even try a static IP, I copied from my computer DHCP (when bypassing the router) cannot connect. I tried to reset to the default values, but still no dice. I can't think of anything that has changed recently.

Thus, the verdict... is she dead? Or is there something else I can try?

    TYIA.

Who is your internet service provider?

If you use a cable connection, then follow this link and if you use DSL connection then follow this link to configure the router.

  • Access Internet WRT54G/PLTE200/WRT150N problems

And here's one for you the guru out there...

I have a complicated network.  I have a DSL modem connected to the port of my WRT150N (Router 1) intenet Novatel.  I have a lan connection to a Powerline PLTE200 adapter that is in communication with his partner Powerline router (Router 2) at the other end of the House.  I have a WRT54G (Router 3) linking ports numbered numbered ports and I have a NAS on one of the Powerline router ports.

I have install Router 1 as a server for LAN DHCP and DHCP disabled on Router 3.  60% of the time that I can access internet from computers connected to router 3 wireless.  If I'm in the middle of the House and unable to connect to the internet on the router 3 I can change for Router 1 and connect to the internet, but not on the router 3.  Router 1 is 192.168.3.1 and Router 3 192.168.3.2.  I can not access router 3 from a computer connected by wire to the Router 1.  I can't access router 1 from a computer connected wireless to router 3.

Router 2 is another of beasty entirely.  I tried using the Powerline of Linksys utility, but it is NEVER the Powerline router or adapter, even when I am connected directly.

When I run ipconfig I sometimes get unexpected addresses on the router 3.  DHCP is configured to 192.168.3.xxx and get the addresses of 169.xxx.xxx.xxx.  With 169 addresses, I can't connect to the internet.  In the last round of troubleshooting, I was not able to verify the addresses when I can connect to the internet.

Here is what I need help:

    1. How can I connect to the Powerline adapters if they do not appear on the usefulness of current line?

    2. can I disable DHCP on the Powerline adapters?

    3. Why is it an intermittent problem?

    4. is there another way to these routers cascading without crawling me through the attic running cable Cat 5?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    (1) I suppose you want all your computers in order to share all printers, Internet connection and possibly also to share files - is that correct?

    (2) it sounds like your (Router 1) WRT150N is connected to the WRT54G (Router 3), using the connected ethernet port LAN port LAN cable - is this correct?

You have much too many problems to try to solve everything at once.  So first, you need simplify your network.  For the moment, disconnect the PLTE200 and Router 2 in the rest of your network.

We will work on Router 1 and Router 3 first:

Assuming that the answers to questions 1 and 2 above are Yes, then you must configure the Router 1 and 3 in agreement with my post at this address:

    http://forums.linksysbycisco.com/Linksys/board/message?board.ID=Wireless_Routers&message.ID=108928

You can continue to use the 192.168.3.1 address for Router 1.

For simplicity (of the sort that I don't get confused) Please change the "local IP address" of the router 3 to 192.168.3.3

After completing the above configuration, test your system.  You should be able to access the Internet from a computer that is connected by wire or wireless to Router 1 or router 3.

Note that addresses 169.xxx.xxx.xxx simply indicate that you do not have a connection to the router.  This address comes from your computer, not your router.

Do not attempt to access the setup menus in the Router 1 or 3 of wireless router, often fails.  Always use a computer that is connected to your network to access the router configuration pages.

If you have trouble getting the Router 1 and Router 3 to work properly, stop, do not continue with the steps below.  You need to get the Router 1 and Router 3 correctly before continuing work.

    *************************

Only after that you get the Router 1 and router work 3 correctly, if you are trying to connect the Router 2.

Router 2 need to be configured in the same way to router 3, except, please will be Router 2 use the address: 192.168.3.2.  Another channel that Router 1 or router 3 also affect Router 2.    Router 2 once the installation program, then he wire LAN port to the LAN port to the Router 1.  (Do not use the PLTE200 for now).  Make sure all three routers are running approriately.

If you have trouble getting all 3 of your routers works correctly, stop, do not continue with the steps below.  You must get all three routers works correctly before you continue.

    ********************

Only after completing all three routers works properly, and then try adding the PLTE200.  Note that the Powerline adapters must be connected to circuits that are on the 'same' side (left or right) of the electrical box.  You should not use the DHCP server in the power adapter holder online.  Will appear addresses DHCP of Router 1.   Carrier current adapters also prefer to be directly connected to the wall outlet, not to an extension cord.  The Powerline adapters also prefer their own made - they do not share a duplex Jack with another device.

  • WRT150N - Wii connection problem

Help, please.  I have a wersion WRT150N 1.1 with the latest firmware available (1.01.9).  I recently bought a Wii and cannot reach the Wii to connect through the normal procedure.  I checked several times that I entered the SSID and the correct key.

So far, I tried the following command to correct this situation:

    (1) tried to get all the info from router manually on the Wii

    (2) wireless and security settings in the router by several recommendations on this issue and other discussion forums.

    (3) entered the mac address for the Wii in the management interface of the router and configured to allow access only by this device

None of this has worked.  All help, assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Update - I have now the Wii communicates wirelessly with the WRT150N with WPA-TKIP, rather than WEP security.  It is a relief, because I really didn't want to leave my network wireless WEP value security.

Here's how I got it to work:

Checked the newest firmware on the router

    Mixed B/G router set

    Channel 11

MAC filtering enabled and set with the MAC addresses of all my wireless devices

Past the WPA-TKIP to WEP wireless security

Loaded the SSID in the Wii, selected WEP security then responsible for WEP key in Wii - ran the connection test

Test managed - started Wii software up-to-date

Verified that the Wii has been identified on the network with LELA

LELA used to restore security wireless WEP WPA-TKIP - new generated key (for some reason, router management kept interface back to old key, had to use LELA to get the new key)

Internet connection setting are erased in Wii

Réentré SSID, selected the new security mode (WPA-TKIP), and enter new key in Wii

A run the connection test - test passed

Now online with the Wii through my WRT150N wireless uses WPA-TKIP security

I don't know what caused the end it works this time.  It could be the update of the Wii software, it could have been the new WPA key or it could be something else entirely.  Maybe others can enlighten us on the root causes/direct solutions based on this story for the benefit of other users WRT150N similar difficulties to get their Wii online.

  • WRT150N could not connect to the internet!

My uncle gave me a new internet router WRT150N. When installing, I get all the way to step 11, when I get a window that opens and tells me that my router cannot connect to my internet. He said to turn my modem on and apart and start over. First of all, my moden is not one we or off button, so I just unplugged and plugged again. Nothing happened. I called the number of Linksys, and the guy made me do all this just to tell me that I already knew information (that my IP address was on my computer and my modem IP address (or router, do not remember who he is) who is 192.168.1.101) on step 10, I entered the IP 192169.1.101 and it did not work. The man on the phone then told me how my warranty has expired and I have to pay 29.99 for him to set up on the phone. I said no, he said, then do it yourself and hung up. Very rude, me leaving with apsolutely no idea what to do or what the problem is. I tried almost everything. Resetting, turning on and out, enter my IP of the computer, nothing works! It will not always connect to the internet! And BTW, when on step 11, I get no internet (as if I try to open the Solution Explorer, the page is available).

Help, please! What should I do so that it can connect and work!

Connect the Modem to the router on the Internet Port and the computer to the router on Ethernet Port1... Open an Internet Explorer browser on your computer (desktop) wired page. In the address bar type 192.168.1.1 and press ENTER... Let the empty user name & password use admin lowercase...

On the Configuration tab, click the sub-tab ""clone MAC address ". Click Activate... Click Clone My PC MAC & click on save settings... try to go online. If it is not then power cycle the network and try again.

  • setting up wrt150N as access point

    Hello.. Please bare with me.
In my previous House, I had my cable modem connected to a dlink wireless router. I used a port on the dlink lan and connected to my wrt150n that is configured as an access point. It has worked flawlessly. I was able to create a network and share files between computers regardless of what router they were physically connected to.

Fast forward a year and in my new House, I have a dlink WIRED router connected to my modem (different ISP) and to a lan port on the router im connected to the port of the wrt150n 'internet '. The computer is connected to the 150n can access the internet and the portion wireless works fine, but it does not connect to another computer that is connected directly to the router wired dlink.

    From the computer connected to the linksys, I can;

    router dlink ping

    router linksys ping

ping ip address ONLY, the second computer that is connected to the dlink router

    The computer connected to the dlink, I can;

    router dlink ping

I can not ping ip address AND name of the other computer

I cannot ping the router linksys

    Is happening here?

What setting should I watch these two computers to be on the same home network?

    Dlink ip address is 192.168.0.1

    Address IP Linksys is 192.168.1.1

He was installing it in my old House and worked well.

Unfortunately, my warranty is up and linksys don't offer me a tech support.

any help would be GREATLY appreciated, I really need my home network courses.

It's just the way you have implemented: you configured the WRT as router and so you have created two separate LAN segments and areas of broadcasting. Emissions of LAN will not cross a router. Name resolution for the WIndows work group works on the basis of emissions, either it works on the same segment of LAN never beyond a router. For example, if you want to keep this type of installation, you will need to use the IP address to connect to computers on the Dlink from computers on the WRT. Reverse is not possible at all because the WRT does NAT which makes LAN inaccessible on the internet port.

You want only the WRT as access point and you seem to want connectivity complete between all your computers I would say that you reconfigure the WRT.

    1. disconnect the WRT from D-Link.

    2. connect a computer to the WRT. Open the web interface at http://192.168.1.1/

    3. on the main configuration page, change the address LAN IP of 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.0.2 and disable the DHCP server.

    4. save the settings. You will lose the connection.

    5. unplug the computer and wire to one of the LAN ports of the WRT to your D-Link router.

That's all. Now all your computers to connect to the same local network and are in the same broadcast domain. All computers use IP addresses * 192.168.0 and have internet through D-Link.

Make sure that the DHCP server on the D-Link will not affect 192.168.0.2 to another computer or device on your network. This would cause a conflict of IP address.

  • WRT150N questions, Please help!

So I just moved into my new House and set up my internet. I used my router before without any problem so far. So my problem is that I have this linksys router and a motorola 2210 dsl modem AT & T Eh well, if I run the Ethernet directly from the modem to the computer internet works fine. But once I added the router I can not get a connection. With the connected router, I have all green in all areas on the modem and the router "I should be connected by saying" my wireless devices are showing my hense network I should be able to connect to it. But it always says connection failed... At one point, I even had my office that I was connected to 54 Mbps but still my home page would not load. I have no idea whats wrong. The internet is coming through, my wirelss peripheral are picking up that I have a network but I can not connect unless I'm jacked right at the source. Please help me understand this. (and Yes, everything is pluged in the right way)

AT & T usually configures their Motorola 2210 to the PPPoE connection for you and use the 192.168.1.x subnet.   With its default settings, your WRT150N also tries to use the 192.168.1.x subnet.  But you can't put the same subnet on the Internet (WAN) and the ports LAN of the WRT150N.  It will be, or does not work at all it will not work properly.

To fix the problem do the following:

    (1) put your entire network.

    (2) disconnect all other devices WRT150N.

    (3) use of an ethernet cable, the son a computer to one of the four ports LAN on the WRT150N.

    (4) turn on the WRT150N and your computer.

    (5) connect to WRT150N to 192.168.1.1

    (6) in the WRT150N, replace the "local IP address" 192.168.2.1

    7) click the 'Save Settings' button and then wait for the screen refresh (3 to 60 seconds).  You will be probably disconnected from the WRT150N.  Don't worry about this.

Exit 8) your browser and put your entire network

    (9) with an ethernet cable, connect the ethernet port on the Motorola 2210 to the Internet of the WRT150N port.  Leave your computer connected to a LAN of the WRT150N port.

    (10) power of your network.  It should work.

  • WRT150N... strike!

I had a just chilling out WRT150N under my computer desk, and I just got a new laptop.  I go ahead and start to configure the router.  Now the router flashes the power and then led all other lights turn on and remain lit.  Then she rinses and repeats.  When I connect my office, he repeats the animation for connection/network address acquisition.  I can't launch the Firmware utility software that I was proposed to download for a manual installation of firmware.

It does not receive enough stable to get the installation.  I have Windows XP Home Edition.  A note more: the router repeats this behavior with or without anything plugged. And Yes, I tried the reset and disconnect/reconnect solutions.  Nothing.

Most likely, you already have a diffective unit. You can try to upgrade the router using tftp. That run. Place your router IP and the password. Browse to the location of the firmware. If it still does not work, check if your device is still under warranty. They will replace the routers with questions like that.

So I have my PS3 wireless with the router, but when I play video games such as Killzone 2 or 2 resistance suddenly when I play online it says "loss of the connection error, check your connection" modem I have is Westell model 6100. My ISP is Verizon. My brother was also mention that it could be the modem.

Any other info, I need to give?

    Help!

What the configuration of your modem and router?  Usually a 6100 Westell should be set to bridge mode.  Probably, your system should be configured like this:

    http://www.dslreports.com/FAQ/6323

Note: The router in the example above has a "WAN" port  This is the same as the port of 'Internet' on your WRT150N.

Please let me know if this worked for you.
