Why install Mcafee always on startup? This blocks my access to the Internet for at least a few minutes.

You want to go at the start to protect your system - which, in itself, is not the reason why you are having problems of internet access.  It is probably not scans either because they affect internet access for more than a few moments all the more (if any) - even if they may affect the overall responsiveness of your system in general.  It's very probably updates its definitions at startup.  You can and should modify this setting at another time (when you are not using the computer, and it is turned on and connected).  If you turn off your computer at night and put in place to make updates when the machine is turned off, it is possible that since he cannot do it then he does it at the next opportunity (when you start the computer)-then try to take the time with care.  You can change when it only scans so while they happen when you're not usiing the computer if it is possible.  Whenever the download occurs it will probably slow down your connection speed (even if I don't expect to freeze everything - but I don't know how the update process works).

    I hope this helps.

Original title: wat is the advantage of allowing anti virus at the start of the section of msconfig

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

Antivirus analysis computers from virus threats and actively protects more than infection. By default, it starts as soon as you connect to your computer. However, if you want to decrease the time to start your computer, you can consider changing the configuration, Avg starts only when ordered. It may seem more convenient, but in the long run, it exposes your system at greater risk.

Your favorite anti-malware software should always be left in your boot manager. Disabling these programs means that your computer will be more set against the viruses and spyware that circulate on the Internet.

  • Alert to the virus to download the latest version of the bios T430

    Hello

I get alerts of virus when I want to download the latest bios T430 (2.50) on the Lenovo site. Tried it yesterday and today, but my Avast it keeps blocking for a serious threat. SuperAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and Iobit Malware Fighter all give this file a certificate of good health. It is good to have other utilities of installed virus control. "... If these 3 has not detected a virus and the source of the file is the official download from Lenovo page - a trusted source... then of course Avast has a hyperactive imagination.

  • constant anti virus reports when using firefox

I constantly receive anti alerts of virus using firefox I was not do this with the Explorer, it seems to be related to the "search request". I get this message "windows cannot find"C:\Users\FAMILY-1\App Data\Local\Temp\NEW26A4.tmp.exe". Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again." After that, I have to go to Bigpond antivirus program that I have on my computer, and the message is "access analysis engine reported a < no name > infection in the file ' C:\USERS\FAMILYPUTER\APPDATA\LOCAL\TEMP\NEW26A4." TMP. EXE' when I logged next to the home of the work I had 350 alerts to get rid of. In addition, someone hacked my hotmail address and sent emails to people on how to make money from home, I had to change my password by e-mail. Any help to stop the alerts would be greatly appreciated.

Make a check of malware with some scan of malware programs. You need to scan with all programs, because each program detects a different malicious program. Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of the database prior to scanning.

  • Error message@Startup C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\egaluxocaciris.dll

Hi all I have an error mesg I get every time I startup or restart my system.  It is this "C:\Users\Owner\AppData\Local\egaluxocaciris.dll" I looked in the event viewer in administrative tools and I can't find anything with this name in the entire chain of information.  We never seen it before.  I did research in the forums and nothing comes up.  Thanks for any help you can give.  Greg

It's a virus/trojan. It has been removed from your AntiVirus Scanner and registry entries are always present to launch the virus at startup.

Start regedit.exe and search (F3 or CTRL + F) for egaluxocaciris.dll and remove all the entries that you find.

  • Unable to connect to servers to update for my games or anti-virus software

I was somehow infected with vista antivirus 2010. I followed guides online on how to remove it. It is suggested to enter the registry and remove the stuff out there, but things that he said that I had to delete were not at all there.  I ran Malwarebytes and it seems to have stopped the annoying pop-ups and alerts of virus, but since then I cannot update my MMO games or my anti-virus software. I ended up uninstalling Malwarebytes and download ad-aware and I wasn't able to update ad-aware. I ran it and it eliminated several infections but I can't yet to update my MMO games. Did I miss something and can someone help me please understand this. Thank you

  • Security Center does not recognize the Windows Security Essentials

Windows Security Essentials does not seem to register with Security Center.  Security Center reports that no Virus protection is enabled.

    1. I installed Windows XP 32 - bit WGA, activated the product and updated to SP3.

2 security Center starts giving Windows security alerts for Virus protection, because none has been installed.

    3. I installed McAffee VirusScan.

4 security Center stopped giving Windows security alerts for Virus protection.

    5. I uninstalled McAffee VirusScan.

6 security Center has resumed giving Windows security alerts for protection against the viruses as before.

    7. I installed Windows Windows Security Essentials and rebooted.

    8. I tried to uninstall and reinstall Windows Security Essentials with no joy.

Windows Security Essentials installation did not prevent Windows security alerts.  No Windows Security Essentials registry entry will appear in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Security Center and monitoring.  If Microsoft consider essential security to be an antivirus product, then how to Windows Security Essentials register with Security Center?

I understand that this is an information and alert issue only.  I understand that Windows Security Essentials works actually ok.  I am particularly concerned by the reports.  It conditions my deployment of Windows Home Server.  Deactivation of surveillance or the alert is not a solution, just a poor quality work around.

In a previous thread, the author of this question even abandoned and has not requested additional assistance.  An explanation was given (relevant for Windows 7), but no solution has been offered.  Windows XP has not been addressed.   http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/Windows_7-security/the-Security-Center-has-not-recorded-an-anti-virus/15ae2383-7ced-4850-A863-f7eb8cc90ee5

I had the same problem for a while now (I'm on xp) and have searched the Internet for a solution but found nothing at the moment.

  • How can I get rid of a pop-up - found Sttray.Exe-entry point

When I start my computer, I get the following pop up: Sttray.Exe entry point not found. The procedure entry point locate string could not be located in the dynamic link library stlang.dll. Please how can I get rid of this pop up, and what it means? Thank you. PS my computer is a Dell Inspiron 9400, and I run Windows XP.

    Hi Lewisday,

I do not think it is a virus problem or infection - this is a notice of failed to start, not a type of infection of popup.  I think you have a problem with loading the Sigmatel Audio driver.  Go to Device Manager and check to see if it shows problems with the driver.  Go to control panel / sound and make sure you can configure everything you should be able to do it - if it is not charging I expect you have some type of audio issue.

Here is the info on sttray.exe: http://www.what-is-exe.com/filenames/sttray-exe.html.

I also have the chance to have a Dell 9400/E1705 laptop and this applies to the Sigmatel Audio driver.  You should check your Dell Service tag number, but will probably end up here: http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/DriverDetails/DriverFileFormats?DriverId=NN9X1&FileId=2940571307&productCode=inspiron-9400&urlProductCode=False.

It runs at startup for me.  It seems that you are having problems with the driver.  I recommend that you download and update the driver on the system and restart and who may well solve your problem.  You would therefore, by using Device Manager.

Without it, you can have problems with your sound (maybe not completely - but maybe in terms of getting the best quality).  I've never tried without it and I have mine set to update for Vista now.

If you do not want to see what happens if you don't just run this application at startup (which will remove the popup as well) and since it is more likely is not already running anyway and yet you don't mention sound problems (maybe you do not just use anything but computers audio base that maybe does not need - I'm not sure) , you can go to start / run and type msconfig.exe, and then enter.  Go to the faucet of startup and uncheck the box next to Sigmatel or sttray.exe, save the changes and reboot.  I bet that the notice has disappeared-, but did you notice changes to your audio files?  If this is not the case, then perhaps you can live without it if the above has not resolved things.

In any event it is not a virus, removing startup thing will remove the popup and update the driver may solve the problem and allow the feature to stay (if you notice or care).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

    Kosh

  • live streaming of media speed is very slow

I have a teenager, when my teenager going to a popular gaming site, my computer slows down. I managed to fix it but, as a teenager, re-entered in the site it happened again. At least, I suspect this is the cause. Media and audio (mp3) are never to load and sometimes just expire. I cleaned the registry, clean disk, defrgged, spy and virus analyses, startup changed, all that I have the good sense to do without success. Does anyone have an answer?

    Hi Nicolioette,

    • That is the site of games your teen accesses to play games?
    • You try to read the media and audio online or is it through CD / DVD?
    • What is the program you use to read the media and audio?
    • It slows down the operation of any computer or it slows Internet?

When you visit the site of games he would invite, allows you to install add-ons and ActiveX modules controls and some ActiveX may contain torjan virus or spyware. This can slow down the performance of the computer and the Internet. You can follow the steps below and check if that helps you solve the problem.

    Step 1

I suggest you to reset the configuration of Internet Explorer on your computer and check if it helps. Access the link below to learn more on how to settings reset Internet Explorer: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936213

    Step 2

You can also run a scan for viruses online from the link below to check if your computer is infected with viruses or spyware. If you find files infected, try to remove it and check the performance.

    http://safety.live.com

    Step 3

Access the link below and follow the steps described in the article, and check if that helps you improve your computer's performance

Edit: After letting it sit on the login screen for around 30 to 60 minutes, it froze... nothing was found a hard drive disk check.

I'm having a problem where my computer is blue screening or otherwise it becomes unresponsive and freezes.  I tried to update the video drivers and printer drivers that I noticed what is happening all when trying to print.  After updated printer drivers and video drivers, nothing has changed.  I can start the computer, and then on foot and it will freeze.  I analyzed a discharge, and I still don't know what is happening.  I did a test of memory, the virus scan (both then under windows and also a virus scan startup disk) nothing works.  Here's the windebug analyze exit - v.  Any input would be helpful, thanks.
