C8180

Hello world

Today, I have a problem with my 8180 C multifunction scanning function.

Either from the center of HP solutions or software like Corel PaintShop, the scan operation will at halfway, then it stops and I get this error message

4, [(3,42,0)]

I tried to reinstall the software three times, no solution.

I tried the HP Scan, no good doctor

My computer is a HP Pavilion DV7-4101SL with the Windows 7 operating system

The printer works fine.

Does anyone have a different solution to buy another scanner?

Thanks in advance.

Alberto

Hey Alberto.

This looks like a communication error with the printer.  How is the printer connected? (usb, ethernet, wireless)

If the printer is connected to the network (without wireless or ethernet), then have you tried power cycling all the devices concerned (router, printer and PC)?  Once all devices have been power pedaled, beginning with the router, and then run an analysis.  The same problem happens or the scan passes through successfully?

Welcome to the HP community @albeland,

  • C8180 don't align with the white paper

Hi just bought a used C8180.  The test print shows empty for forj light scratches white and cyan, and cyan light magenta and magenta. I replaced all cartridges with new ones. I ran numerouse printhead cleaning and self-test of reports. Black print is fine.

    The pictures are horrible.

Trying to align the printer, it gives the error "use clean white paper." The white paper is 96bright and new.

I turned the unit on, reinsert the cartridges.

    What else?

    Hello

The printer uses a colorful light to align the print head. If required (in this case Cyan) color is not printing - the printer cannot complete the alignment. If the printer does not know there is a problem, then he thing you use other than white paper.

It seems that the printhead of the printer no longer works.

  • My HP Photosmart C8180 All-in-One Printer does not scan the black and white film strips or slides.

This problem occurred recently. Previously, the scanner accepted slides and strips of black and white film and scanned them without any problem. Since I've updated the OS on my iMac (I am currently using OS X 10.6.8), I contacted Applecare because I thought that it was possible that my current operating system might have some incompatibilities with the C8180. 'Expert' AppleCare then accompanied me by a uninstall/reinstall, but it has not solved the problem. AppleCare said then that the problem is no doubt HP hardware failure. I find it quite peculiar since the scanner otherwise Applecare analysis works and there is no problem with respect it print or copy.

    Hi, JAOC,.

Your C8180 can scan slides or films fixed on the memory card.  This will allow you to test the scanning equipment.

  • HP Photosmart C8180 will not light

    Hello

I have a HP PhotoSmart C8180.  I recently moved and the printer was working fine until I moved it, but once it was plugged in after the move, the printer lights not at all.  The move was only 1/2 mile so he simply sat nicely on a car for the car seat and has not been disturbed around.  I tried a second original HP power and it made no difference.

The power light comes on and the system powers the LightScribe disc but nothing else.  Making sure power is disconnected for hours even before plugging it back in does not give any different results.  I tried to press a variety of buttons while it turn to try to force a system reset any without change as well.

    Any suggestions?

    Thank you!

    Keith

Thank you.  I had no time to answer back previously, but in fact, this has been resolved.  I think that what ended up finding it was the small watch battery figure on the map system inside the printer, leaving all the drains of power that remained in the chips, then put the whole thing back together again.  After turning on it always came not for a few minutes and then roar back to life again.

    Thank you!

    I get error code 4, [0,9,80000-40005,), (2,25,8004000d), (3,25,0)]

    Hello tracklink,.

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I'm sorry here on the problem you are experiencing with your printer. Unfortunately, if the scanner bulb is no longer the light upward, it's a hardware problem, and the printer would need to be replaced.

  • New Photosmart C8180 displays error code C2FF8575 out of the box.

I bought a Photosmart C8180 a few years back but put away in a closet and never opened until today. I started to install the printer and followed the instructions, but when I plugged on feeding (a first step in the installation program), the screen started showing the error Code C2FF8575, more a point of exlemation on the front of the machine and the power button began to blink rapidly. I have insterted the cartridges in it, but it did not help. I followed a tip of troubleshooting I found on the HP site to uninstall your ink cartridges, unplug the printer for at least 60 seconds, then plug back in. There is nothing to help as well. Please help me to solve this problem and get this printer doesn't work! Thank you!

  • C8180 ink system failure

    Hi guys,.

I'll keep this short because I know that many have the same problem.

My C8180 is to give the dreaded ink system failure message.

Lots of error: "ink system has failed.  Cannot print.  Refer to the printer documentation.  Error: 0xc18a0001.  "Stop the power, then on again.

If I reset the State of the equipment via the secret menu, I am able to print an absolutely perfectly.

After you print it automatically makes a clean head thing (all noises) and used then print again (attempt to next print gives the above error).

If I reset again - I can print once very well (a copy color with lots of colors, a self-test or a print menu alignment).

He is 2 years old, so out of warranty, but I am furious that HP support tell me to throw it in the Trash because the print head is not replaceable!

I tried to replace all ink cartridges too.

    Help, please!

    Thank you

    Matt

    Scratch that... I FIXED IT!

Here is my solution which I hope will help others.

OK because the printer is capable of printing a fine print after hardware reset (via the secret menu), I found that the print head was indeed works very well.  It is only when he has tried to clean itself that it developed the 'problem '.

So, I've had printed one... but it's a Word document, FULL of colors (just a whole page of colored blocks).  I printed in high quality to use more ink.

This seems to have cleaned the heads by running a lot of ink through.  The next time he tried to clean it does not error.

I know, I should work for HP :-D

Good luck out there, there is hope.

    Matt

  • Photosmart C8180 All-in-One printer that turns off completely in the middle of printing.

I have a Photosmart C8180 All-in-One printer that powers completely in the middle of printing, wasting time, paper and ink. It restarts also sometimes more and more and more and sometimes it stops and all the lights blink quickly, show an on-screen error code. During these periods, the power button seems useless. I use the printer with a HP Pavilion dv7 laptop running Windows Vista and an HP / Compaq Presario Windows XP.

When the C8180 works correctly, it's great. But I can't allow myself to be play roulette of the printer. Help, please. Thank you.

Thanks to kkcb9395 for your help.

Unfortunately, I have not found a solution to fix my HP C8180. The 800 number only referred me to another number (866-234-1377) where someone in India tried to sell me a phone support or a new printer. Phone support will not fix a burned capacitor and the new printers HP scan slides. Not to mention the $100. new ink I'll have to eat if I can't solve this problem.

For anyone who has followed this thread and interested in your own C8180 setting here is a link to a parts list.

I am a customer of HP for HP CEO and longtime who think they have the customer service thing down, I'm on my way to buy an Epson.
    Thanks again for your time.

I have a wireless HP C8180 printer, copier & scanner.  I don't set up on a new Microsoft Vista Dell laptop so that independent - a computer and a printer - NO network.  No other computers have access to this printer.  After the last update of HP security breach - I believe he dated from 26/11/2008 - I get reviews Windows Vista error message following "BC_BLUETOOTH_VERIFIER_FAULT (0x00000BFE)."  I noticed that as soon as I simply means the printer C8180 connected to the computer with a USB 2.0 connection, and then everything is OK.  As long as I'm Bluetooth wireless then I get the blue screen and the critical error message.  All was well, before the security update and the printer works perfectly without wire.  I looked in the Device Manager and tried to up the driver without a bit of luck.

  • C8180 problem: resizing recording is not the settings customized

I have a HP Photosmart C8180 printer all-in-one. I am able to print and scan regular letter paper, but I am unable to create and save a custom setting to print greeting cards (215 mm X 140 mm unfolded).  When I go into preferences-->-->, then to the custom drop-down list resizing features tab options, I can enter the dimensions, but when I press 'save' and 'ok', I can't find the new dimensions on the choice of drop down menu in Adobe Illustrator or in the printer driver.  So, I cannot print my map. I would appreciate your help. Thank you.

Hmmmmm... I just tried it with my install Win7 and I was able to create a "custom paper size", save it, then open a n application and select the new custom paper size and print with it.

I have included a page on what I am to research/talk to; is that what you see?

I clicked on "Custom" and got this dialog box to the right.

Define a name "" customer - whatever "and determine the dimensions... but make sure you click on [SAVE] to the right before clicking Ok."

Close these dialog boxes; Then, open your application and in the print dialog box, look for this new name custom paper size.

  • HP Solution Center does not see scanner (HP Photosmart C8180 All in one)

Solutions of HP on my L:aptop will not see the scanner HP Photosmart C8180 printer.

I can print from the laptop and my desktop computer sees the thin printer using HP solutions (same printer same router/network).

It is a problem that has occurred before. I put on the day of Vista to Windows 7 and re-installed the program, and if I remember correctly it was working fine.

It has now stopped working again.

I just had to re - install the printer because it does not appear in the folder devices and printers.

    Hi DavidSK11,

It uses a USB connection or network?  You install by using the drivers from the HP website?

  • I have a HP Photosmart C8180 printer on the printer screen it displays C2FF8575.

I have a HP Photosmart C8180 printer.  On the printer screen, it displays C2FF8575.  It won't turn off, unless I unplug islet that my Undo button keeps flashing. What does all this mean?

The code of C2FF8575 refers to a fatal mistake in the firmware of the printer. The only thing you can do when this error is a hard reset. I will include the instructions below. If this does not work, you will need to replace the printer. If you are still in warranty, HP can replace the printer without cost to you. I'll link the information to get in touch with them below. The link takes you to a form to fill out. Once you fill it and she is treated, it will give you the printers warranty information, a file number and the phone number to call.

HP Technical Support call case form:
    http://goo.GL/w7Hgh

    To do a hard reset:
    1. make sure that the printer is turned on.
    2. pull on the power cord from the printer.
    3. pull out the power cord from the wall.
    4. wait for 30 seconds.
    5. plug in the printer and turn it on.

  • C8180 All-in-one_Printheads

I noticed that the C8180 printheads do not seem to be replaceable by the user... HP lists the part numbers, but they are not available to order... Or they are also available on order anywhere... HP02 ink cartridges are everywhere but no head...

After using several HP printers with user print heads replaceable this concept is confusing... Especially knowing evils doors/connected/bands head issues in the past with these different models...

Y at - there something I'm missing or are these new style heads the Holy Grail of heads and never connect or have banding problems, etc...

Can anyone shed some light on this... TIA

    MI-también

Yes, the printheads on the photosmart is not replaceable by the user. as far as I saw, the C8180 gives very less banding issues and last for a period of time before they show signs of damage. In fact, I've seen printers with print heads replaceable by the user FAR more problems that the fixed print heads as I am glad that there is a range of printers with non replaceable printheads by the user.

In the end, if well maintained and if you use genuine HP inks, more if you have a little luck on your side, this printer will be the best printer you've ever bought. This, together with the C7280 and the Photosmart premium C309a are among my favorite printers.
