Don't see sound card in Device Manager

Hello

I installed today on my desktop - windows xp sp3 and all work well but I have 1 problem.

Before I installed windows xp sp3, I got windows xp sp2 and the work of audio device without a problem, so I doubt that it's a software failure.

Here is a picture of my device manager:

http://i56.Tinypic.com/25aj31i.jpg

And I check my BIOS Office and there is no problem and the sound card is enabled.

I tried refreshing and the search for changes on the hardware in Device Manager and no change is
and also I tried to install the driver software and realtek chipset and unfortunately no hope with that.

Kind regards.

If directx has not helped,

then, the next thing I would try is to run a program called "autoruns" from microsoft.

then after that it scans the system, find the audio drivers 'all' and them disabled.

When I say 'everything', it may be that there is more than one driver or a corrupted or conflicting in your system.    something was mentioned involving realtek. so this is one of your objectives of drain plug, because it might be old or damaged or incompatiable.

Then reboot and see if windows detects the sound system.

If this is not the case, then have it search for a material via the Add/Remove Hardware Control Panel.

If it still does not work, then you can try to reinstall the drivers of the homesite.

If you have disabled the audio drivers via autoruns successfully, the re-installation may enter.

    Hi ShariKB,

    ·         What is the exact error message in Device Manager?

    ·         How long have you been faced with this problem?

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    ·         You have security software installed on your computer?

Follow the suggestions below for a possible solution:

Method 1: I suggest you to follow the steps in the Microsoft article and check if it helps.

    No sound in Windows

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/no-sound-in-Windows

Method 2: I also suggest that you scan your computer with the Microsoft Security Scanner, which would help us to get rid of viruses, spyware and other malware

The Microsoft Security Scanner is a downloadable security tool for free which allows analysis at the application and helps remove viruses, spyware and other malware. It works with your current antivirus software.

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. To restart a scan with the latest definitions of anti-malware, download and run the Microsoft Safety Scanner again.

Important: While running scan on the hard drive if bad sectors are found on the hard drive when scanning try to repair this area if all available on which data may be lost.

    Hope this information helps.

  • No network card in Device Manager

Windows has started giving me BSOD about 2-3 weeks after the installation of new hardware (CPU, MoBo, RAM, sound card) with old hardware (GPU, power supply, HARD drive, more RAM). Why he gave me BSOD this long after the upgrade, I don't know, but I have an inkling that it may be due to a processor AMD will an Intel processor without reinstalling the operating system. I was also able to activate Windows (he has started to think it wasn't authentic) since slui.exe did not work. I changed the power supply because of the requirements of power increased and finally reinstalled the operating system and now have a new copy of Windows active and ready to go. No BSOD (so far) no driver issues, nothing went horribly wrong.

In this context, I present you my current problem: just before I reinstalled the operating system, when a backup of my data, I noticed that I couldn't connect to the internet. It showed I was connected to the LAN but no internet. I got hurt like that before, but it was either something I could fix it by resetting the adapter or the DSL down. I thought it was just another thing that turned bad in Windows and that a reformat/reinstall would fix it, as it does most of the problems.

The thing is, after reinstalling Windows, I noticed while I was installing drivers from the CD to the MoBo that the LAN driver was not clickable. I checked Device Manager and, of course, there was no topic network cards. Search the hardware changes do not work, and flashing the BIOS (via M-Flash) did not work.

Since the MoBo is around the age of two months, I believe it is not a hardware problem, but is there another possible explanation? I'm going to RMA this mid-September if there is no solution at this moment here.

My motherboard is a MSI 785GT-E63. I will give all necessary data to solve this problem. Thanks for all the advice I can get.

There is no unknown devices in Device Manager, I installed all the drivers for all my hardware. I even downloaded the latest drivers from MSI site, including the network adapter driver, which I installed it without result on another computer.

There is a setting to disable or enable the LAN, but it is set to 'Active '. I'm also leaning towards the network chip being broken due to overheating of the thought. It is a turn intermediate with a huge GPU and poorly ordered PCI/PCI-e slots. The single NIC that will fit must be PCI-e x 1 which are more expensive (about $30). I'm leaning toward move my computer to a larger Tower (the one currently resides in my brother's computer) or, as I've mentioned before, RMA'ing it.

Thank you for your response. I'll see if there are any other ideas or suggestions before the agreed time.

  • Satellite A300D-20V (PSAHCE) - Double card in Device Manager

Hello, I'm trying to understand this for a long time, but I failed. I decided to sign up here and ask.

I have Windows 7 installed and fully upgraded, everything works like a charm, but in my device manager, I have two displayed graphics cards
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3400 Series (works well)
ATI Radeon HD 3200 Graphics (boot error, code 10 device) - well Yes, looked at the list of error codes MS, tried to update the drivers, nothing works

Screenshot of the Device Manager: http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/3290/radeon.png

My question is what is this second device because it does not work properly, so the other question is if it is possible to combine the two devices to get more power in the graphics (like ATI CrossFire)? And if someone could post a link to the drivers who will be the best for this chart I would really appreciate it!

    Thanks in advance!
    Lukas

    Hey,.

As far as I know on desktop it s normal behavior because the card will be installed as a primary and secondary card...
But in Device Manager shouldn't t no yellow exclamation point.

First you must make sure if more recent display of the official website of Toshiba driver is installed:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

If it doesn t work it would be interesting to know if you can see the same (yellow exclamation mark) on pre-installed OS from Toshiba.

Windows Vista Professional Edition loaded as my new OS for the studies and course work. Now my display driver no longer works correctly.

Device Manager displays the following message on the graphics card ATI Mobility Radeon 9600/9700: 'Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43) »

Have search everywhere on the web for solutions but limited knowledge prevents me to get a positive result. There must be someone out there who can help...

    Hi BigPappaDom,

In my opinion to get rid of this, you need to reinstall the display driver. I have checked the site of Toshiba Satellite P30 is no Vista driver available. This means that you must find yourself to get all the drivers. :(

I searched a bit and you should try to install the Satellite P200D display driver. She also equipped graphics card ATI and this driver must be compatible with your other oldest:

    Laptop > Satellite > Satellite P Series > Satellite P200D > display driver

  • Satellite L300-170 - no network card in Device Manager

    Hello

    I use Toshiba Satellite L300-170.
I install Windows 7 and realized that my LAN connection does not work.

In Device Manager, I have only the wireless network adapter which works fine.
My question is: is - nothing I can install LAN adapter manually and then install driver although my OS does not recognize LAN adapter?

    Hi mate

First of all, please set the BIOS to default settings.
Then save changes, connect the LAN cable to the LAN port and reboot the device.
After that please check in Device Manager if the LAN Controller would appear once again.

AFAIK some newer laptops supports a new energy saving feature.
The LAN card is active and appears in Device Manager only if the LAN cable would be connected!

    Welcome them

you mean the files are hidden inside your hard drive or hard drive is not detected? u can see it in Device Manager?

    (1) try to change / assign a different letter for the drive through disk management, if it is no longer visible through the Disk Manager

    (2) if files and folders are hiddin use the attrib command

Open the command prompt run as admin and go inside your hard disk by typing the letter of the hard disk on the commnand line

    For example D:

    then use attrib - a-s-h - r-* /s /d

    Hello

Sorry but I have no explanation for this. I can recommend you to remove the sound card in Device Manager, then restart the unit. After reboot, the sound card must be recognized and installed properly.

It will be interesting to know what model of laptop you have.

  • Satellite L40 - 14F - can't make my sound card works with XP

I can't make my sound card works. I tried to install all versions of drivers, but not sound.
Then I tried installing high-definition sound updated for windows XPSP2 and still nothing.

Ultimately, when I installed the drivers for another computer, I could see a sound card in Device Manager, but I got! the driver and it says "the device cannot start. I installed a new original drivers and once more, nothing has changed.

Is there a possible way to solve this problem?
PS. using Toshiba L40-14 f :-) and Windows XP pro with service pack 2.

    Hello

Satellite L40 - 14F belongs to the series of PSL4CE.
XP drivers for this series don t exist on the Toshiba page at the moment!

I have found that the package of XP driver for PSL48, PSL49, PSL4C and PSL4B model number!

So, it seems that you simply try to install incompatible drivers!

If I m not wrong not the device uses the Codec Realtek ALC660 chip and chip high definition audio Intel HDA (Azalia)!

  • How do we uninstall sound card from the bios on a Satellite L40?

I bought a Creative Soundblaster 5.1 and install having problems with him. The technical team was advised to uninstall or diasble internal sound card via Device Manager. Tried and every time computer re - starts the sound card is re-installed.

The team informed that I should uninstall it from the bios. I have only a very basic knowledge of computers, it would be appreciated if someone could point me in the direction of the instructions, or guide me through it.

I have a portable Satellite L40 and Vista works on the computer.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Paul

I got some bad news! You can't disable the sound card in the BIOS. The BIOS for laptops is just different as BIOS for the desktop PC and the menus are not the same.

    +*@McMadkat*+
Please don t be angry with me, but I think that your suggestion is wrong.

The sound card may be disabled in the Windows operating system device manager

  • Satellite P300-220 - yellow exclamation on the sound card

    Hello

I just lowered my Satellite p300 to XP pro, but it seems to me that I now have some problems.

-First of all, in Device Manager, I have a line "Audio device on Bus High Definition"with a yellow"?" and a «!» I installed the audio drivers and kb888111xpsp2.exe execution but that did not solve the problem, this line does not disappear.

D ' other hand, when I click on "my computer > properties" it is written that I had 2, RAM 96Go, but normally I have 4 GB. Is this normal? I'm a little afraid to see it and not know what to do.

    Can someone help me?

    Thanks in advance.

    You must install Microsoft patches:
    -KB888111
    -KB835221

But these fixes are also part of the SP3!

In order to solve your problem, you need to remove the audio driver and the sound card in Device Manager. I then have to install SP3.
After SP3 has been installed, you can reinstall the sound driver

It is important that the pilot would be installed AFTER the SP3
