    Hi all

I found this on the discussion Forum and it worked!

Thank you John Ablordeppey of Ghana, West Africa, and Markus_M

Suggestion of John fixed the error on my JO 8620, too.

I was able to do it without removing the left cover.

Just open the cartridge door, have a flashlight and check all visible cables, pressing them firmly into the connectors.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 ADF feeder

I have an error message on my HP Officejet Pro 8620 which won't go away and so I can't use the printer, which is less than 1 year old. The message says, "the original is stuck in the ADF (ADF).  Open the ADF cover, remove and reload the original and then try again.

My problem is that there are not any apparent jam and I can't erase the message. I am seeking to solve views.

For those interested, I stopped and unplugged the printer from the surge protector. Restarted but no luck.

I then bought a can of duster sprayed everywhere and has erased the message. I suspect that a piece was pasted on a sensor. I'm now operational! See you soon!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: Paper feed problem

New Machine - age for a day. Follow the installation procedure and a tray loaded with good paper 20 # 8-1/2 "x 11". When I send a print job to the printer - the finished sheet is great except for a double crease to the top of the sheet. It's as if she gets stuck, deform the sheet and then it ends. It is not appropriate for an office environment.

This printer has a duplex on the back unit.

Secondly when I put the tray paper for 4 X 6 photo paper and load the tray... it won't pull the paper and printing. The error message says to check the configuration of the status bar and load the paper - I have already done.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620 shows a black line on scanned documents

I have an Officejet Pro 8620. Just bought two months ago and everything was fine. I scanned just, however, an element through the feeder and it has a verticle black line subject to halfway, going down the whole page. What can I do to fix this? This is not the case again using the dish.

The question that you see is caused by a small spec on the glass of the scanner ADF, thin glass just left of the main bed.  Clean this area as on the solution three of the document here.

I found that shining flaslight parallel to the glass of the ADF can highlight the spec, it may be difficult to see.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 button walk / stop keep flashing

    Condition:

My Officejet Pro 8620 is about 1 1/2 years and all of a sudden it does not. (FYI: it worked again yesterday). My printer has been connected to 3 PCs in my house wireless, there is another printer (HP LaserJet Pro M401dw) in the same room connected to wifi even. Printer is plugged directly into the outlet. No attempt to replace the cartridge or install the new firmware recently.

    Location:

This morning, I saw the power button flashes, in an unusual way, it flickered at a rapid pace, about 3 - 4 times per second. When I try to print something, the printer has not been to see the in my list of printers, so I try to touch the screen of the printer, but nothing happened. When I pressed the power button, it stopped blinking, and the HP logo was shown on the screen with a blue bar underneath. Then it was stuck there for hours. Tried the hard reset, use the tools of the firmware, connect my printer to my pc using cable, but my printer is not displayed on my pc (it is not detected by the pc, no new feature and nothing appear in "Printers and devices" when the cable is connected to my PC).

So I unplugged the printer from the power source and wait a few hours, then reconnect the printer to the socket. The printer has started again with the power button / stop light up and the screen showing the logo of HP with a blue bar below the logo. But this time, after a few minutes, the screen is off, all buttons blink (home, help, back, wireless & power button) at a rate (about 3 - 4 times per second) fast, and after a minute or two, home, help, "back" button and stop brighter wireless (only flashing light up), but the power button keeps blinking. All the buttons and the display do not respond, press the power button / stop is unable to turn off the printer.

I tried all possible troubleshooting methods suggested on this forum, but nothing to solve it, I hope someone in this forum can help me with this, thanks in advance.

    Hi @DenieceNg,

It seems that the problems are on the increase, and maybe this could be related to a hardware problem with the printer.

Here is the document of support for the power problems - printer does not turn on.

If these problems persist, I would contact HP Technical Support because they may have additional resources that could help lead to a solution. What you can do, is to use the following link to create yourself a file number, then call and it can help to expedite the appeal process:

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620: One side scanning instead of both sides

Whenever we scan with the printer using ADF, ALWAYS scan both sides of the document. We want to scan only ONE side, but we cannot find any setting switching on both sides for only one party to scan. It's very frustrating because whenever we scan, we have the right page and one white. We use Adobe Acrobat and driver scan TWAIN of the model.

Is it possible to set up the printer we want?

    Best,

    JM

    Hi @keyser2015,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see you try to do a side scan instead of the two sides, with your HP Officejet Pro 8620 on Windows 10. And I'm happy to help you!

Each scanning program, has their own features. I'm not familiar with the use of Adobe Acrobat, so it is possible the functionality are not available in this particular scanning program. If you need help on the use of Adobe Acrobat, I would say to contact our Support from Adobe, for assistance.

In the meantime, I suggest try using HP Scan instead and see if the option is available on the main screen to choose scan front side. If you have trouble with the HP scanning program, please try our HP print and Scan Doctor, to see if it can automatically solve the problem for you!

Hope this information is useful and thanks for posting!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: Officejet 8620 Webscan Pro via the power supply produces corrupt PDF. Yes, I'm serious...

    The environment:

Network connected HP Officejet Pro 8620 all-in-one.

Workstation running Windows Pro 64-bit 10.

Internet Explorer browser, Adobe Acrobat Reader DC as default PDF reader.

Full functionality of the HP printing software is NOT installed.

Using the feature of webscan and the automatic document feeder, I scan the document with the default settings for a PDF file (although I have experienced with other parameters).  The scan works very well, and the new page opens with the displayed document.  If I scroll the document by using the wheel on my mouse to halfway through the volute, a window pops up saying "Year Internal Error Occurred" after what I have to hit OK.  I can save the document in PDF format, and as long as I open it with Acrobat Reader DC, it will show.  If I try to open it with another drive (for example Microsoft Edge, I get a blank page).  I tried to create a new PDF by printing it in Acrobat Reader to a PDF generator (generator PDF PrimoPDF and Microsoft), but in both cases, it says "the file could not be printed" and "no pages selected to print.

The scenario above also happens if I scan a multi-page document.  HOWEVER, if I scan a single page document with the original on the glass, the scenario above does NOT.  It creates a perfectly usable PDF.

So... to eliminate Adobe and or IE as the culprits, I put the PDF reader by default Microsoft Edge and launched the webscan using Microsoft Edge also.  When I scanned it using the automatic document feeder, it fed the document, acted like he was treating it, and the result was a WHITE page.

The printer firmware is up to date.  I tried the old turn it off, unplug the unit, wait a while and turn it on again the solution, but that made no difference.

I searched the forums and see reports that correspond to what I see.  Overview of all what could happen here would be appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Hi @exfordguy

Welcome to the Forums of HP's Support.

In General, the WebScan function is intended for diagnostic purposes and is not quite as functional as the software. If you choose not to install the full feature software and driver, you can use Windows Fax and Scan.

If the printer has Web Services enabled, you can also go into the applications menu and use the scan to e-mail.

Honestly, I see no reason why you are scanning via WebScan when there are better options available.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620: error 0 x 80070490

I received a notice of update from HP for my printer.  When I tried to install the update I received the error message subject: HP - other material, printer - Null Fax - HP Officejet Pro 8620 - error 0 x 80070490.  I don't know what that means.  Should I just ignore this message and no need to apply the update, or this error is an indication of a more serious problem?  The printer seems to work very well.  Thank you.

Welcome to the HP community @barkers,

I saw your post on the error code you saw after trying to update your Officejet 8620 and wanted to answer you. I would personally think everything is fine with the printer, as you said that it still works very well. However, if you wish, and if you have Web Services enabled on the printer, you can access to the Setup Menu, Web Services, update the printers and "Check for Update Now", to see if there is an update available for the unit.

If you need anything else, feel free to write again!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8620: HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 scan low resolution

According to the specifications of the OfficeJet Pro 8620 offers a resolution of up to 1200 dpi scanning, but the scan software offers only up to 300 dpi. How can I scan at a higher resolution than 300 dpi?

    Thank you for your response.

    Hello

Automaric document feeder allows scanning up to 300 dpi, to analyze higher resolutions, you will need to use the glass flat.

Place your document on the glass and open the HP scanning software, change the source as glass flat instead the default (use ADF if loaded), then you will be provided with the option to select a higher resolution.

    Kind regards

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8620: Impression of poor quality HP Officejet Pro 8620

I had no problem printing until I went to the "HP Instant ink cartridges".  I complained and got a second set of cartridges.  But the new set has not improved the quality.

I used to print messages from Gmail, and the text was a vivid black.  Now, it's a clear bluish gray.  Web page with text impressions smallish on them seems faded and are practically illegible.

Virtually everything that looks like I'm stuck on the "Draft" mode

Changed my default settings in "plain paper-best" and did all the other steps (align, cleaning print heads, etc.) with no improvement in quality.  I also downloaded once again print driver, rebooted, etc..  Paper is the same: copy paper multipurpose Boise X-9 (20 books, letter size, 92 bright).

Help!  What should I do to get back to good quality prints?   Happy to send someone at HP 'before' (GMAIL messages) impressions printed in December, using standare HP cartridges and 'after' impressions (the same GMAIL messages now printed using HP Instant cartridges) if it would help to diagnose my problem.  Just give me a name and an address.

    MNY THANKS!

Bad news and good news about the problem of print quality with my printer HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 Wireless all-in-One Color Inket-Scanner-copier:

After working with two "technicians" on the chatline useful instant ink, I was opted for a printer HP imaging expert.

We did some tests, and it was determined that I had a hardware problem.  Good news, finally understood the problem after more than a month of difficulty.

Bad news: 8620 My was two months after the warranty.  (The printer has 14.5 months.  The warranty is 12 months).  Then, tough luck, no new printhead, ceertainly no machine replacement.

In addition, the well-meaning test (involving a reboot) disabled the printer.  Now it doesn't work at all.

I found myself ordering a 8620 HP remanufactured through HP imaging expert.  A bit of a discount ($100) on the price of a new machine, but more of what Amazon or Wal-Mart sells the new machine.

Also - I bought an extended warranty ($19) to cover the machine for 3 years.

Still not sure if the instant ink caused somehow my hardware problem. The 8620 was working perfectly until I changed the previous set of HP regular cartridges with instant ink cartridges (when the printer was 13 months, one month after the original warranty).   The printer had never been abused in some way and only moderately used.

Now waiting for my new rebuilt the machine.  Can't print, copy or scan until it happens.

Lesson: Always get the extended warranty.  You're out of luck if there is a problem any of the last 12 months.

  • OfficeJet pro 8620: officejet pro 8620, error: problem with ink system

During the initialization of the printer, after that I inserted the ink cartridges, I get the error: "X-problem with ink system... I followed the directions: "lift the latch on the print carriage, reinstall the print head and then remove the cartridges and inspect leaks." Do not use cartridges that leaks. If the cartridges are OK, re - install. After you have reinstalled, turn the printer off and then back on. »

Well it don't turn off the printer... I get another message: "the printer initialization and the ongoing calibration.» Do not put off the printer or turn off the power during this process. »

I repeated this process on 6 or 7 times with the same result.

I use "cartridges Setup" he claims.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8620: RDP 8620 Officejet prints strange lines

I tried to find an answer to this for almost a month.

We have a HP Officejet Pro 8620 and we want to be able to print from a remote computer to ours. The printer is shared.  We'll call the local computer pc1 and the computer remote pc2. PC1 remotes in pc2 using a standard Windows 7 Remote Desktop connection. PC1 sharing their printer with pc2 by redirect. the sharing of each resource to which is connected to it. PC1 is trying to print, and then waits. The printer that is connected to the pc1 via USB cable gives us a message that looks like this of course is not what we want when we try to print an Excel worksheet. No, this is not the complete document. This is the first 1/3 or the page and the rest is completely white. It almost looks like a code any. I installed the drivers on ppc1 both pc2. I tried the drivers universal instaslling. I was told that get this work 4 years ago was very easy, but I could not crack. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Problem has been resolved by the default driver. Has not reappeared since we have updated for the generic driver for 8600. Had to install the driver on the two machines.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8620 does not print, but the document is sent to the printer without error

I bought a HP Officejet Pro 8620 and connect 2 computers via a wireless connection with the latest driver.
In the first computer (windows 7) I can print without any problem
On the second one (windows 8), when I try to print, I can see in the windows printer spooler file that I'm going to print. The file is sent to the printer, without error, BUT nothing happens.
I already tried reinstalling the drivers, restart the computer, the printer. I tried to connect to a wired network. It still does not. It's very weird but I got no error, just does not print. I thought that the printer does not work, but on the second computer I can print.
