Pavilion p6010a - mouse frozen on startup
Hello
I just got a NEW HP Pavilion p6010a
OS: Vista Home Basic
2gig RAM
The problem I have is after becomes locked for some time to turn off the PC and turn it on again the mouse, and even if I unplug the mouse and put it on another socket USB is still not recognized, there must be a few reboots before it will work again.
It seems he has not the power of the mouse at all.
The only other devices I plugged in via USB keyboard and a USB wireless adapter.
I have no idea what I should do to fix this very frustrating problem. I did have the PC for a long time to come back to the factory settings wouldn't be a problem if this will solve the problem.
I had downloaded the SP2 which I think may have the question, so I uninstalled SP2, but unfortunately this has not solved the problem.
If anyone has a solution to this, I would be extremely grateful.
Kind regards

Thanks for the reply.
The problem is now resolved. There was a problem with the Wireless USB adapter (extender) cable that was causing problems with the mouse, etc... I changed to a newer cable and have not had any problems since.

HP Pavilion G6 black screen at startup... Help!
I have a HP pavilion G6 that has worked well for like half a year. Today I wanted to start my laptop, but it seems to be stuck on a black screen (with my slider appeared) after the HP loading screen.
Sometimes, at the start, he says 'prepairing failback', but the results after loading at the same black screen.
I tried to solve this problem with the following things:
1. hard reset (turn off everything, hold the power button / stop 30 seconds, all lights and start-up etc..)
2 replacement RAM. Someone from the Forum said it worked, but it didn't.
3 tried to take off all USB devices such as mouse, adapter DC etc. and starts but didn't workI don't know if it has nothing to do with the startup problem, but a month ago I tried to do a factory reset, but my laptop seems to be stuck on the same black screen. I couldn't find a solution for this too.
I really hope that someone can help me without sending my laptop to HP...
Thanks in advance.
Hello
You are welcome
Error code 24 characters for short drive Self Test (DST) would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced. This is also consistent with the question of commissioning.
As your laptop is listed as coming with Windows 8, it should still be under warranty, so my best advice would be to contact HP and arrange for the replaced disk - if necessary, you can check the status of your warranty here.
If you live in the United States, contact HP here.
If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

I let my child play disney games for 5-10 minutes when I came back, she stopped everything and now the carpet of mouse or key thingy on the laptop no longer works is frozen help!
Try a system restore to a Date before the problem began:
Restore point:

Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.
Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.
Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...
Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

HP Pavilion G6 black screen at startup
So my HP pavilion G6-1c58dxG6 cannot start. When I turn it on I see loading windows files and go white bar at the bottom, then a screen of microsoft coporation then I get a black screen with no mice. If I remove the battery and run it through with just the charger it happens to a planned Windows with the mouse. I did a few tests through the bios and it came with the memory Test: memory test managed Primary Hard Drive Disk Self Test: 1 (303) fast hard drive. Then I did F2 at startup-> HP Advanced Diagonostics start-up Test Memory Test System: SPENT intelligently check: DST short PAST: FAILURE failure ID: ID of PRODUCT RLJC6C-5S776X-MFGH4K-60U303: AA96UA #ABA Hard Disk 1. Does that mean I need new hardware?

Error code 24 characters for short drive Self Test (DST) would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced. It is also compatible with startup problems you describe.

While working online screen of my MacBook Pro suddenly went grey. I turned off by holding the power button, and then he started upward. He would charge the Apple starts the bar and after it went down to about 1/3 of the way suddenly turned. I tried a few times and then opened it in safe mode. Ran repair disk and after having received the message in green "everything seems to" correct the screen froze. He said there were five minutes to go and I waited at least 20 minutes. I then typed my mouse and the Rainbow ball began the round and I've waited longer until I turned it off again. I tried to go back to the top and got a flashing question mark inside a folder. It off and starts in safe mode this time the Bar starts but remains stuck at halfway through and will not move. Any suggestions what I can do? Thanks for your time!

Portege Z835 frozen at startup but now nothing
I have a Z835, only 4 months but now frozen to screen "starting Windows."
MS Windows logo was lit in his charming way, but I can't go any further.
After that, I can only make a hard stop using the power button.
The laptop worked well for 3 months, but now nothing.
I have to admit that I didn't create a restore disc, so, to a degree have myself to blame. It was purchased in the United States and I live in Mozambique where support because it does not exist.
I can get to the configuration screens using F2 at startup - but then they seem to not make any difference and I'm not sure what I would do here anyway.A COMPUTER store tried to re - install Windows 7 from an external drive, but it would also not go further.
I would be very happy if someone has an idea!
Thank you
David WoodHello
To me, it seems that the system cannot be started.
This can have several reasons: it is possible that your HARD drive is faulty or there is something wrong with the preinstalled system. So what to do?
I think you should take your recovery disc (I hope that you have created this disc in the past) and try to reinstall the system. If this is NOT possible due to a hardware problem, well in this case you need extra help a service guy

I bought this computer in June and a few months ago problem started.
Problem 1: System suddenly stop and not the work of keyboard or mouse.
Problem 2: When starting up, it freezes and need to hard reboot by pressing power botton
Problem 3: more than half of computer time not connecting wireless and Device Manager shows that there is no wireless adapter
[personal information deleted] and product number is J5R51AV
To resolve this problem, I tried to update the window 7-10, which was not helpful.
Also tried format for making adjustment that is not useful and interesting there still window 10 instead of 7.
Any advice will really appreciate.
You have a 1 year warranty which will expire soon. This sounds like a hardware problem that I would have solved as soon as possible. Fill out the form here to launch a support ticket:

Pavilion: the mouse settings not saved upon restart
Just bought a brand new HP Pavilion with windows 10 for £400. I'm about to return to the store unless someone can help me solve the reason for which the mouse for the touchpad settings will not save after reboot. Help, please.
Try the following.
Hold down the Windows key and press R
In the run box, type regedit and press enter
In the registry editor, navigate to the following
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Install
Inside, look for a key named DeleteUserSettingsOnUpgrade
If it is present, right click on the key and select Edit
Set the field data of the value 0 (zero) , and then click Ok.
Close the registry editor.
Make the Synaptics setting changes you need in the usual way and save them, and then check if they are now kept after a reboot.
Kind regards

HP Pavilion 17: mouse pad does not work after replacing hard drive
Hello
After replacing hard drive and installing windows 8.1, I can't use my mouse pad.
I installed the Synaptics driver but it didn't help.
How can I check that mousepad device is not damaged when replacing the hard drive and which also can I try to fix the mouse pad?
USB mouse works fine.
See you soon
The only way to be sure is to open it up and see if the touchpad cable was disconnected during the upgrade of the hard drive. That's my bet. Easy to forget when you're winding. You don't provide complete model number, but many of the recent models Pavilion 17 require removal of the cover together to get hard disk that requires disconnection of the touchpad cable.

After downloading Avast yesterday and running a scan, which found nothing, the wireless mouse froze in the middle of the screen. It happened after a reboot. I tried another USB port that has not fixed the problem. I plugged a wired mouse and the cursor stays frozen. I tried a few reboots, nothing helps. I went to the Microsoft site, signed and attempted to get a fix, but when I found an object that looked like it was for XP, SP3, it wouldn't let me access the page. So, I don't think the Microsoft site helped me again. Can someone tell me how to operate with a frozen mouse and give me a solution for this?
Hello
Thanks for posting your query in the Microsoft Community Forums.
According to the description of the problem, it seems that the mouse cursor frozen after installing Avast antivirus on the computer.
-Have you checked the mouse on different computer?
This problem could be due to Avast antivirus. I suggest you follow these methods and update us with the results.
Method 1: I suggest you try to download and run the Fixit tool and check.
Automatically, he diagnoses and fixes problems with the hardware. (USB) Keyboard and mouse are not detected by the Manager of devices or when they do not work.
Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows
You can also check out the link and check.
Troubleshoot a wireless mouse that does not correctly
Method 2: Disable Avast antivirus and check.
If disabling the Avast solves the problem, you may be contacting Avast Support and check.
Warning: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.
Please post back with the State of the question, so that we can help you further.

HP Pavilion dv6 starts request at startup startup normally or repair problem
Hello, HP Pavilion dv6 starts to start normally or Startup Repair request. Results of normal boot BSOD too fast to read.
Startup Repair in execution, but 13 hours still not repaired. What should I do? My computer knowledge is poor in good conditions, but I'm at the point of turning into an expensive Frisbee. The fact that I have to use this UM netbook that will soon be a Frisbee is driving me crazy!
It's a venerable laptop purchased Feb 2010. It is a Pavilion DV6 (model DV6-2005-TX) running windows 7 Home premium (32 bit) and updates only did a request from Microsoft, so are a lot of patches and fixed security.
Help will be very humbly and grovellingly welcome.
Hello
The error code is different from the first, it is still a short drive self test failed and confirms that the drive must be replaced.
A brief overview of how to replace the hard drive is detailed below.
The player at the link below is an example of one that would be perfect for your laptop.
The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 53 of your & Maintenance Guide.
Once this is done, simply use your recovery DVD to reinstall the operating system on the new drive - this is described in the document of HP here.
If you do not have your recovery discs, you can order a replacement set using the link below.
If you have a problem with this link, order them directly from HP.
If you live in the United States, contact HP here.
If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

Windows 7 Ultimate on laptop mouse frozen
I just installed (yesterday Wednesday 24 Feb) Windows 7 Ulimate
Now the mouse has frozen in the middle of the screen, I can't move at all
I have to use the power button to turn it off, but its not happy my l ' as that, but even when I stop, the mouse still does not move
It worked fine with XP and Vista, then I upgraded to Windows 7 Home premium (trial version)
So I got Windows 7 Ultimate, installed, no problem, got all of the updates (I think)
I've not yet installed all the programs again, outside of Office 2007
My laptop is a DELL inspiron 1720 dual core 2 GB ram and HD 320
Can anyone help/advise please
Maybe its something that is common on laptops with Windows 7
I don't think so... I have a laptop with Windows 7 ;)
Perhaps rather... DELL laptops, because it seems that this problem is mainly related to them.
You can also try to get in touch with the Support technique Dell . Maybe they have already found a solution if the problem is related to their laptops.
