Re: Still WT8-A-102: broken glass - help with parts / repair

Hello world

I bought a Tablet Toshiba still WT8-A-102 a couple of weeks, and unfortunately, I cracked the protection glass, a fall on a concrete slab.

Anyway, long story short:

The LCD is intact, the touch function works (95% of the time, about 95% of the surface of the Tablet), only the protective glass is cracked, no splinters seconded, just a simple crack that runs through the entire length of the Tablet nice zig - zag.

~ 300 EUROS for sale at retail and service price, they asked for about 160 EUROS fix the thing (which I think this is outrageous).

So, I'm looking for using the following questions:

(1) I can't find a service manual. I need one to see if it is mandatory to replace the whole or just the glass screen / touch as well as for finding how to disassemble / mount the thingie.

(2) depending on the answer to the first question, I'm looking for spare parts (i.e. either a display or the touchscreen device, as I have a VERY good repairer, which ows me a favor, that is why the replacement would cost me nothing)

(I'm well aware I'm void the warranty, but given the service invoice by the official service of Toshiba, I find myself with choice of o).

Thanks in advance for your answers.

Sorry mate but I don t see any other solution for you to communicate with the Toshiba authorised service provider in your country to solve hardware problems or get parts of the compatible device.

Service manuals are not available for public use. As far as I know, that these manuals are available only for authorized service agents, engineers, etc.

  • Yet WT8-A-102 stops suddenly and updated the BIOS

I bought a Toshiba still WT8-A-102 (not part no PDW09E-00100EEN) to the end of 2014. I upgraded from Windows 8 for Windows 10 Home Version 1511 without any problem in 2015.

I use it for a limited number of applications - Office365 and navigation, generally with Chrome and Hola VPN to access certain geographically limited websites, for example TV channels, watch movies and content recorded from my TV (these are generally. TSV format); I run the free version of Malwarebytes and AVG anti-virus.

I have two problems I can solve t.

    1 stop abrupt

For a few months now, it always turns off suddenly, always exactly 30 minutes after the start. There is no warning, the screen goes black and that s it. You can immediately restart and continue as before, but the same thing will happen again after another 30 minutes. It happens that it s plugged in or on battery power.

I can find no reason for this. For example:

    • It didn't happen when I've upgraded to Windows 10 but a few months later.
    • The battery does not turn down.
    • The Tablet does not heat.
    • It occurs regardless of whether you ve been using the Tablet constantly for 30 minutes or simply turn it on and let it idle.
    • Sleep and stop times are set to one hour.

I ve looked at event viewer and the only things there are a few system errors showing which means nothing to me (a server is not registered within the required). Certainly, there is nothing that happens in the few minutes before it turns off suggesting a reason.

    Any ideas please?

    Update 2 BIOS

I ve installed the different Toshiba updates available for this model. However, the update BIOS doesn t work. She is currently the version 1.60. I ve downloaded the version 1.80 for this model on the desktop. The zip file is bios-20150722112320. I extract it and it starts the process. The Tablet goes on to say it's reboot and then a panel will appear that says:

    InsydeH20 Flash secure
    Invalid firmware image!
Press any key to reset the system

It s a Tablet! While they want me to? I ve you press buttons - Windows and volume - but nothing happens. If I just leave it, it turns off after 30 minutes and we re back with BIOS version 1.60 and I can work as usual.

Although this seems excessive, but suggestions please?

Thanks a lot for any advice,
    John

It seems that your problem is similar to mine. I'm having the same random stop downs https://forum.toshiba.eu/showthread...-Error-Code-10 also I have an error code 10 in Device Manager. The agenda called "Intel Trusted execution engine Interface"... are you facing the same error?

I sent my tablet at the service of Toshiba, it has been over a month now and still waiting to be informed about the problem!

  • Yet WT8-B-102 discharge while being closed

    Hello

My Toshiba still WT8-B-102 performs 100% to 5% and less then 10 hours after being arrested (not the sleep or Hibernate). I use Windows 10. I can't tell what it looked like on windows 8.1 because after buying the Tablet I've updated to W10. I even did W10 clean install (with drivers from the toshiba site). During normal operation my battery lasts about 6 to 8 hours, so I guess there is nothing wrong with the battery itself.

You have ideas, what is the problem? Some perhaps of settings in Windows?

"USB Sleep and Charge" and Wake on LAN/keyboard drain the battery when the unit is off. Disable these settings in the BIOS.

  • How to connect TV again WT8-B-102

    Hello

I have toshiba still wt8 b 102. I don't have a micro hdmi, micro usb only. How can I connect my tablet to tv (no wifi)?

    Post edited by: kropek

According to the datasheet of Toshiba STILL WT8-A-102, the table supports the micro HDMI port output.

This port can be used to relate the table to TV s HDMI IN port.

Of course, this requires the use of micro HDMI to HDMI Cable

I have a Tablet yet 2 WT8-B-102. Anyone know, please, what would happen if I tried to load / use on current electric at the same time that the use of an external mouse?

I have an adapter that plugs into the micro-usb port and has two connectors USB (life-size). I have attached a USB mouse and one USB key to another and worked well. However, if I plug in a USB mouse and the plug of the charger on the other USB connector (via a USB cable at each end full size) what happens? • WT8-B-102 does not start even after charging

I recently bought a Toshiba WT8-B-102, and I have some problems with it.

First of all, I couldn't install the update to the BIOS for a reason, but this isn't a huge problem for the work of the Tablet very well

but now I can't start it over. yesterday, I had the same problem, the tab left alone for a while (on the charger) and after that there no start/start. half an hour later, I tried again (after taking the charger) and then he started, but today it won't start at all. Even if I load for a few hours, then try again, try to start charging, etc. It's not good right?

I don't see that some led light or any other sign when I attach it to the charger. Any help or ideas guys?

    Thank you

Probably the battery is totally discharged.
In this case, you need to charge the battery by connecting the power adapter for 30 minutes before turning the power on

Yet WT8 and Encore WT10 won't turn on after some time of no use

If this will not help, the device must be checked for possible hardware problems.

  • Toshiba still WT8 - restore procedure does not work

    Hello

I recently bought a Toshiba still wt8 with 2013 preinstalled office student.

The desktop application will not install with different messages about problems arise.
the last message says that it can not download because it is not connected to the internet, even if it is

In the following advice on the setting of the installation of various forums, I now have a machine that needs to be reset.
The road to restore installed does not work because it says that the files are missing.

Ive created a recovery disk (possibly after you buy a micro USB key).
but now when I try to use it, it indicates the recovery drive is not valid.

I've had the unit for four days now and I have yet to be able to use for anything other than making circles of frustration.

Can someone help before I completely lose my sanity?

    Thank you
    Nick Chablis

    Hello

Usually you have two options to restore the system.

(* 1) * you will need to create a recovery media and could use this recovery media to restore the system
(* 2) * you can restore the software preinstalled from the recovery partition

(* 1) * before using the recovery media (USB flash memory stick), it must create a. The recovery image is stored on the dedicated recovery partition. And can be copied to USB flash memory by following the steps.
-Turn on tablet and allow it to load the Windows OS as usual
-Insert the USB micro-USB port (do you need a micro USB cable USB converter) tab (under System Windows Apps view) Control Panel
-tabs and system security-> action center-> recovery-> create a recovery disk
-then you must follow the instructions on the screen to complete the recovery media

To recover the system USB flash stick insert. Then put ON the table (charm settings-> power bar-> stop) after the tablet was turned off the POWER, wait 10 seconds, then press and hold the power button / stop and the volume button up until the start menu is loaded. Then use the volume up/down button to select the menu to your actual recovery media option and press the Windows button to confirm. Then a menu appears, where you must follow the on-screen instructions.

(* 2) * the 2nd option of restore partition recovery is also possible.
Stop the tablet. Press and hold the power button / stop and the volume button up until the start menu is loaded. Then select HARD drive recovery. Now press Yes, select troubleshoot, select Reset your PC and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the process

Alternatively, you can perform the restore through laptop settings in the operating system. (parameters-> change PC settings-> update & Recovery-> recovery)

  • Toshiba WT8-A-102 - power problems

    Toshiba WT8-A-102 PDW09E - 00100EEN

    Hello

I tried to lift a warranty call, but got stuck in a loop Q & A who dropped out, and he presented me with an e-mail form. Completed with all relevant details, but I have received no acknowledgement of receipt of email.

Anyone know of a SIMPLE way to just raise a ticket, under warranty, for a Tablet where I've got the S/N and P/N and the documents on file command?

Tablet of my son is still under warranty - he ordered at the end of February of last year and was received in March - but now we'll have problems with it. More often than otherwise, if my son or I press the power button briefly, we get the Toshiba POST screen until the power turns off.

We even left the tablet in a cradle of office when it turn, so the charge cable and tablet itself does not move between attempts - and sometimes it'll turn on leaving us after many attempts where nothing happened when we pressed the button.

We swapped with known good cables, so we know that's not the issue.

On the rare occasion, it stays energized long enough to go to the login screen it still can't do anything with him because the power turns off as soon as the CPU put under any load. Once Windows says that the battery was at 0%, but load. I left it for 15 minutes and it's always 0%. I then put to some Windows updates without disturbing the laptop or power cable and the power cut out less than a minute later. For obvious reasons, this excludes the ability to perform updates BIOS; We simply cannot risk of bricking it.

So any ideas? Personally I prefer to exchange it for a laptop and pay the difference, but I'd settle for a warranty repair, if only I had a way of presenting that would send me an email back!

Your tablet is still under warranty, it's good news because in the event of hardware problems, should be set the Tablet for free.

What you have to do now, is to contact the Toshiba authorised service provider in your country to organize the next steps.

Toshiba supports Windows 10 UPGRADE on this tablet.
Upgrade means that you must upgrade the current system Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 using the Microsoft upgrade procedure.

Most of the drivers and software that was preinstalled on Windows 8.1 is compatible with Windows 10.

All other drivers and software that are not completely compatible with Windows 10 can be downloaded and updated from this page or by using the preinstalled Toshiba Service Station:

To select the display mode, you must go to:
