Satellite A500D-10J: HDD would not at any time

Hello

On the first laptop: Windows vista Home premium 32-bit installed, AMD processor, 4 GB RAM, ATI 4650 graphics, - disk HARD 2 x 250 GB (ore one, but two partitions).

The computer is pretty cool again with a few programs installed only.

The problem is that from time to time, it behavies like the HARD drive does not respond (as he would be disconnected from the computer).

When to start the thing - the windows crashes at the same time, computer will restart - and then after reboot it does not start - but displays error messages - one of them is like (primary HARD disk failure).

I can go into the BIOS settings - when I check the BOOT page it shows only my DVD player and in the HARD drive, there is no available option - he does not see.

The other symptoms when it happens, it's the hard drive make strange sounds - click on reguralry. The problem sometimes dissappeares when I turn it off Remove battery - let it cool, then try to turn on - it is sometimes still hurt, but after a few moves more AC, it again with no noise from the HARD drive - only good calm scratches (working properly), the HDD led flashes correctly.

If you have some thoughts made me know. -the problem is very irritating - because you can not boot computer when you need it - you have to play with it, so it's ok. It is difficult to present it to the service - because it works and it's allright - then this error takes place only successive rom.

Hello

It is similar to a HARD drive malfunction
It s not really a good sign if the BIOS does not detect the HARD drive in most cases that would mean that the HARD drive is faulty or there is something wrong with the HARD disk (on the motherboard) controller.

I think you should run HARD drive Diagnostics

Download the HARD drive Fitness Test (he free tool.) Google for it) and create a boot disk that allows you to test the HARD drive.

Usually if the HARD drive test passes correctly without any error... but if you notice any errors, then it of time for a new HARD disk

I think that the laptop is under warranty, so I recommend you contact the ASP in your country for replacement.

    Hi experts,

I would like to ask for help on the problem of my laptop.
The FN key is not working now. I tried to restart the Flash cards, but nothing happens.
I read on a few discussions that I must download the VAP and drivers section flashing utility.

That is, that there is no option for vista 64 on the list. I have the European backup installation discs (CD 7 or 9?) but I do not intend to reinstall new OS.
I can not activate the button for the antenna, because it requires the combination FN + F8.

    Hello

It seems that there are only some a lot of drivers for Vista 64 bit for Satellite A500D not published on the page of the European driver Toshiba
This is why I would recommend checking the VAP (value added package) and card Support Flash Utility released for a series of Satellite A500.

  • Satellite T130 - 10G: Firefox does not read any video or flash content more

My Firefox does not read any video or flash content more. And in watching the news of repair troubleshooting/malfunction in Firefox under graphics, he said that "Direct2D activated" and 'WebGL Renderer' have been blocked because of the version of the graphics driver.

I downloaded a new version on the Toshiba site, but an update of the driver can not find the new version.
I had briefly solved the problem by installing the new driver from the file but it is not recognized in Device Manager.

Automatic update through Windows just tells me that the driver is up-to-date.
    I have the Satellite T130 - 10G.

Would be great if someone could help.

    Thank you!

Hmmmm... as you know Toshiba doesn't support third party software so I think that your question has nothing to do with Toshiba directly.

You find the same content with other browsers?

  • Satellite C660-2EL off - would not turn back on this time

I hope this is the right place to put this. I have a Toshiba Satellite C660-2EL and last night it shut down without warning, nothing. He would not go back at all, he just kind of this noise as if it were die a death slow and had the green light etc., but then off back again once, I noticed that my battery had come to lose (which sometimes happens) so I put back and tried again, nothing.

I also tried with my charger and everything in place, again this time that there is an orange light flashing, no green light and a-type noise that squeaks really horrible. Come on now, this morning, I decided to try it all again and it works? * Anyone know what this could be? *

I have insurance and I think just take it to them because of this and see what they think, as it's the second time it happened, although the first time, he never turned back, and Toshiba, it had some water damage and was so my fault and I had to send it to the normal setting so it can be fixed.

    Thank you all!

On this virtual path, it is not easy to discuss these issues. Generally better you can do is to contact the nearest Toshiba service provider, ask for help and try to clarify this with the technicians.

If you have a valid insurance try to ask for help and get free fixed.

Sorry, but what else to say about it.

  • Satellite 5200-903-drive DVD not reading any type of CD

My old 5200-903 Satellite with multi DVD doesn't read any kind of CD; material and pilot test shows no failure; What can I do else?

Have you noticed the same test with DVD?
I can't say for sure, but it may be that the optical disk drive is defective.

It may happen that the calibration of the lens is defective and objective cannot be calibrated to the CD, but with DVD works perfectly.

    Check it out.

  • Satellite Pro L300 - HDD is not detected

My Satellite L300 hanged while I used it. I tried to restart, it just wouldn't start. It shows this message on the screen "no bootable device-insert boot disk and press any key" tried, but it still does not work. Then I tried using the restore disc. It then displays a message on the scree that the hard drive is not mounted which means that it does not detect the presence of the HARD drive.

    What can I do?

    Hey,.

This looks like the HARD drive is not recognized, so your computer isn't able to boot and disk HARD recovery doesn't work correctly

I recommend you check the BIOS if the HARD drive is recognized correctly. Usually in the BIOS, you should see the correct HARD drive model number and it would mean recognized s. Otherwise, the HARD drive is faulty and must be replaced

  • Satellite M105-S322 - HDD does not detect

My laptop does not detect the hard drive. I press F2 to go into BIOS and it says hardrive No. I reinstalled the hard drive, but it still says the same thing. I have test the SATA hard drive on the desktop and it detects its.

What seems to be wrong? Help, please.

    > I have test the SATA hard drive on the desktop and it detects its.
This looks like your HARD disk on the motherboard controller is faulty
But before that you exchange the motherboard but I would test another HARD drive maybe the HARD drive is faulty and will recognize only on certain computers or mothers.

If a new drive HARD doesn t work too, your motherboard needs to be replaced.

  • Satellite A200: Recovery work does not correctly

    Hello

I have a Toshiba A200 and attempted to retrieve the default settings using the provided Toshiba CD recovery. I can't make it work...

Initially, the recovery seems to work very well, and it copies the files from the first recovery CD (1of2). Then, I get a message "Please insert next media and press OK to continue" and the drawer opens. When I insert the second CD (2of2), he turns as if you're trying to read, then opens the tray and again gives the message "Please insert next media and press OK to continue.

I thought maybe it was a doubtful CD2, but trying to retrieve from the hard drive partition without using the CD (i.e. by pressing 0 at the start and following instructions for out-of-box state) I get the same message. Surely if I get back from the HARD drive so that I would not insert any media?

I have tried several times and get the same message. In addition, sometimes after inserting CD2, I get the message "error copy of file or folder.» Cannot copy PREINST001: data error (cyclic redundancy check). »

I would be eternally grateful for any help on this one!

    Euan.

Believe me a virus cannot affect the recovery procedure.

First the HARD disk will be formatted before the OS will be installed and that would wipe out the virus from the HARD drive.

Second, a virus cannot affect any 3rd party, no writable media

    It is therefore something different

Someone at - it an idea?

    Greetings,

    Hello

And have you connected an external USB device as says the error message? If Yes, remove all USB devices and try to restart your laptop.

If you can t start in safe mode, your operating system is confusing upward and the only option to get rid of it is to reinstall Windows.

You use the preinstalled version of Windows 7 in Toshiba? If yes go to the start menu Windows by pressing the F8 button where you can select the safe mode, etc. and choose Advanced repair my computer option. Then select Toshiba HDD recovery and factory settings are restored. Also see this article on HARD drive recovery:

If disk HARD recovery doesn't work, you need an original Toshiba recovery disc. If you didn t create this drive just order a new one here:
