Unity 4.0.3 subscriber greeting

Hey people,

A Subscriber has a recorder of wishes alternative and transferred into the unit. When callers get passed to the VM, they hear personalized greeting followed by the generic unit 'you can record your message after the beep... ". "etc.

Is it possible for the appellants to ONLY hear the recorded greeting, followed only by a sound signal (and for the record to start later)?

Thanks a bunch,

ML

You cannot disable the system prompt on a per user/manager basis, but you can disable the system-wide. It is not supported by TAC and the guest will come after you do any kind of upgrade of the unit - you can check the details for how to do this here:

  • Migration of mailboxes unity 4.0 (3) Subscriber

I have a question about migration offbox mailboxes of current subscribers the unit of an Exchange 2000 Server to another server Exchange 2003 by using the same Alias Exchange. The two exchange servers are under the same ad as the unity server.

In each existing subscriber account the unit, the unit stores its Exchange Alias matching the location of the server and the Exchange mail store. I would like to know that during the migration or spend these Exchange accounts of a mail store from one Exchange Server to another e-mail from another Exchange Server store, how can update us of existing subscriber accounts Exchange server and mailstore information without deleting the existing account and import the account using the Exchange account using the new Exchange Server with new mailstore? (The Subscriber always uses the same AD user account and even Exchange Alias all right)

    Thank you

    Hi Raymond,

You are migrating users from one constituency to another normally, then you will need to re-run the configuration Assistant message store to point the unit to use as a partner Exchange Server 2003 server.

  • Entry of the appellant

We have a server of unity 3.01 and 3.15, with most of the subscribers all goes to a different destination when the user press 0 during the Subscriber greeting. Is there a simple way to SQL or with any tools to get a picture of the place where each Subscriber is configured to route to when the caller presses the 0 key? We are removing users in an old system of Unity 3.x and their import as new users to 4.05 but need to reproduce their old settings. Is there an easier way to do this? I looked at the call handler in bulk which works with a CSV file, but y at - it an easy way to get the CSV file with the info from 0 # inside? So I watched the call handler report but which does not list users, just the CH and the destination.

    HI -.

Using Subscriber information dump tool, you can create a CSV report - select aliases and stocks came calling to a minimum. It's in the unit tools deported under administrative tools. I don't have a system 3.1 more, but in my view, that it was options available. The keys for entry appear from left to right in the CSV file, starting with the 0 key on the left. If the value is said to ignore, the key has not been set.

  • The unit/AutoAttendant

to open the greeting call handler, how entry road calling for expansion.

Currently the UNIT can only route calling entry for the extension of the Subscriber greeting.

ring the phone of the Subscriber not you create a call handler, it's alternative transfer of active game rule and set the chain transfer to ring the phone you want. Then in your opening call manager greeting, you can map a a key rule for ' attempt to transfer to "this call handler. You can also assign an extension number to the call handler and people he can dial directly from the opening greeting instead of (or in addition to) using a caller to key mapping entry.

How can I see what numbers or keys a compound caller while they listened to a welcome message from unity? I want to know how a caller got hospitality to a particular extension. For example did they press '1' to go to a different call handler or a connects an extension to four numbers directly in the unit?

    Thank you.

    Hi Douglas,.

With the status of remote port monitor you can also log the session and it will create a notebook file on the computer where you installed. The output is easy to understand, but if you want to know the DTMF insisted some old calls then traces the path.

You must all tracing to the level of detail. If the trace is defined at the appropriate level, you can see traces of conversation Manager or traces Manager call detailed CUC.

  • Unity Subscriber update

    Hello

Is it possible to reapply the template settings to a group of subscribers?

I want to be able to change a parameter in a template, and then reapply the new parameter to the existing subscribers.

    Thank you

    Peter

No, there is no mechanism to apply all the settings of a model of the Subscriber on the Subscriber. The models are used when the Subscriber creation/import. It would be a little difficult to do something like that because it would also reset their PWs and which I assume is not what you are wanting here.

You can use the BulkEdit utility to change the values on the mass of subscribers of en - this is your best bet for such operations.

  • Call the Manager greeting too long? Unity 4.0 (4)

    Hi all

Is there than a limit to how long call handler Greetings can be? I have 5 or 6 call managers who have long messages, about 2 to 3 minutes of each. This is part of an auto attendant where people call to listen to pre-recorded information.

The problem is, I am looking to add another Manager to call, but it will not accept a long record of more than 90 seconds. I record a phone via the Unit Admin page. I have appears to accept the call, but when I hit save it displays a message from 01:30 length, and the message is cut off after 1 minute, 30 seconds.

How can I change this? Is there a limit to the total length of the record of wishes?

    Thank you, Randy

This is limited by the user service class, with you record greetings. If you look at the COS for this user and go to the greetings page amaximum greeting duration of 90 seconds, you will see - you can bump to 999 seconds (about 17 minutes).

  • Have a unit with no physical phone subscriber

    Greetings,

I wonder how I can set up a subscriber of the unit for users who don't have not really a physical danger phone to them but have an Exchange mailbox. For example, we have some users who don't have phones but we always provide a box of voicemail for them so that they could have VM left for them. Is there anyway that I can put it up with Unity and CallManager 4.0?

    Thank you

    Joe.

If you do not need to send them directly to vm (sending callers to sub via greeting of opening by extn), simply create the Subscriber.

If you must send to vm by dialing into a number, then create a phone fake and fake and above all to the VM extension. Adjust the sub to have the same dummy extn.

The sub then allows to compose the unit directly and press on * to connect.

  • Cisco Unity call of managers calling entered invalid entry

I created an Automated Attendant Call Manager that allows callers to dial a (entry of the appellant) extension during the greeting. Key 7 is not locked and expects additional keypress. It works fine if the caller dials the number of correct extension. If the appellant accidentally composed a 7xxx extension that does not exist, they receive the following message in the system of the unit, "I didn't recognize that as a valid entry." "Hello, Cisco Unity messaging system. From a touch-tone phone. "Is it possible to configure the DA call handler to transfer the caller to a call handler I created place of Cisco Unity System Manager? The AA, I created is losing control of the call when it is sent to the system. I would that the AA to hold on to the call to provide it's own 'invalid extension' message appears, then return the appellant to call AA handler greeting. Thank you in advance for your help! -Paul

You don't specify your version of unity, but I guess that a version 4.x of little flavor or another.

This can be easily done by editing the greeting of the error. By default it does not appear in the SA, but you can display it by using the advanced configuration tool to turn it on. By default the error greeting will play this generic invites "I didn't understand...". "and transfer the caller to the opening greeting Manager of appeal. You can set it to wrap on itself instead.

You can also use BulkEdit (found in the tools on your desktop filing) to do that--change the greeting error (still on display in BulkEdit) and in the action dialog box, select "loop back to itself" optional - this way, you can change all the call management and subscribe to the caller of the loop back to the call handler current input not valid.

  • MailStore unity and Exchange

    Hello!

    (1) how unity distinguish e-mail, fax and voice messages when it verifies the Subscriber mailbox?

    (2) when the unit checks the mailbox of the Subscriber for new messages, it seems that in the Inbox or in all folders?

    Thank you

    Sergey

    1. the unit uses extended MAPI properties to determine whether a message is of a particular type (i.e. the message class IPM. Note.Voice.Unity with a media type of voice and an attached WAV is considered an answering machine). Types of fax can be defined by 3rd party Fax Configuration tool from fax servers 3rd party use various message classes for new messages.

    2. the unit cannot access the Inbox of reception and deleted items folder (it may empty the sent items folder) - no other folders are accessible.

  • Unity 4.0 (2) and /ForestPrep for Exchange 2003

We plan to upgrade our Active Directory in Windows Server 2000 and Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2003 and Windows Server 2003 AD network. We currently have two unit 4.0 (2) servers (Unified Messaging) in two separate locations, each serving a different group of offices. All in all, we have more than 1,000 users in 5 different locations. All these users and locations upgrade to Windows 2003, Exchange 2003 and unity 4.0 (4) at the same time is not an option. Therefore, we would gradually migrate each location to Exchange 2003, Windows 2003 and unity 4.0 (4).

I understand that unity 4.0 (4) is the recommended version to use with Windows 2003 and Exchange 2003, but I've also read in Cisco documentation as 4.0 (4) unit when running on Windows 2003 requires that you are already running Exchange 2003. What confronts a dilemma in that we have separate locations of mutiple supported by one server shared unity and we simply cannot risk all these sites simultaneously to unity 4.0 upgrade (4), Server 2003, and Exchange 2003. So, what would be the best strategy to go where we want to be? This brings me to the following questions:

    a. If we run / Exchange 2003 ForestPrep against our field now even if we are always unity 4.0 (2)?

    b. can we begin to introduce Exchange 2003 servers in each of our branches (administrative groups & routing Exchange) while staying at unity 4.0 (2) provided that these servers are not designated as a partner of unity and without voice mail server or connectors of the unit (for example, unity voice bridge connector) are on these servers?

    c. would make sense to upgrade the servers of the 4.0 unit (3) first and then move to unity 4.0 (4) once all the Exchange servers in all our branches have been improved in Server 2003 and Exchange 2003? This interim update seems to give us more flexibility in our path to upgrade its operating system to Microsoft Exchange server version requirements are less onerous

Windows 2003 is not necessary for the 4.0 unit (4). Likewise, it is not recommended because there is evidence of the way in which Windows 2000 with the unit, but we do support Windows 2003 if the client really wants to use it. We ship the unit on Windows 2000 and that's what we recommend at this time. No functionality is lost under Windows 2000.

Officially we do not support have all Exchange 2003 servers or even execution of ForestPrep if you have lower than 4.0 (3). That said, the only flaw we've never seen this is when the unit is connected under the local system or when the subscriber accounts are on Exchange 2003 servers. You wouldn't be the first customer to do so and it should be fine but really understand that it is not technically a Cisco tested and taken in charge of the configuration.

    Thank you

    Keith

  • Could not import the user with Exchange 2003 to unity 4.0.1

We had a user leave and come back 2 weeks later. Its AD account has been maintained, but his e-mail and voice mail have been removed. When we activated its AD account and created a new box of e-mail, it can operate on the network and Outlook. However, the unit 4.0.1 it can not see when I try to create a voicemail for her using "import of exchange functionality. Anyone know why or how to fix this?

    Geoff

It is likely that the unity of this user properties are always on account of the AD and the unit won't you not re-import them because he thinks they're alread a Subscriber. If you had deleted them as a Subscriber first before deletion of their AD box so it wouldn't be a problem - but assuming that wasn't the case I guess that this is your problem.

The best way to proceed is to pop open the tool Global Manager of Subscriber in the warehouse of tools on your desktop. Navigate to the server of the unit you want and right click and select 'Import users' in the dropdown menu drop-down. The import users dialog box, navigate to the folder AD in that the user is and right click on them - if the option ' remove subscribed real estate "appears, select it and they will be 'cleaned '. Then you can right click on them again and import them (or do through the SA at this point if you really want to).

  • 3.1 the CME with unity UM cycling back to wishes of opening

I have connected 3.1 with unity 4.03 UM CME. Almost everything works. I can call internally and leave messages, MWI works, I can access VM from a phone.

What does not work is this situation:

    1. call success outside the opening GreetingCH

    2. the appellant between extenstion and goes to a phone user what rings 4 times then passes to the UnityUM.

    3. call goes back to the OpeningGreetingCH instead of the user's VM.

It seems that the UnityUM do not realize that the call is sent by another extension that has a virtual computer account. Nothing in the default unit routing rules have been changed. I didn't give the opening of an extension number of wishes, but this should not affect things.

Recommendations on how to check and fix this?

The first thing to check is to see what extension is presented to us during the transferred call - this is the most likely the cause. You can do this by pulling the top of the viewer of the call that you will find in the depot of tools on the Office of the unit. Once, it is to the top, do your test call and look what we get when calling forward in unity. I am betting that the transfer station is not the ID assigned to the Subscriber, you are eager to provide it.

  • Directory Manager not grateful not subscribed

I setup voicemail for a Subscriber on the worm 3.1.4 unit but when you enter the last 3 or 4 letters of its name, it is not find any matches. I checked that there is a check mark in the check box 'list in the directory' 'profile '. It works fine for other users who are configured in the same way on the unit. I don't think that this has nothing to do with this, but this particular user does not have a greeting or recorded voice and others don't.

Without a registered name used the unit list for external callers through the Manager of list of name choices (they, however, will appear for other subscribers when they process the messages).

We need a name of voice to allow us to check with the user that they have the right guy when there is more than a football game to the spelling you entered - the only other thing we can do is to voice the extension which, of course, the user would be dialed if they already knew. If you register a name to vote for this guy, it will appear in the list of name search Manager.
