Windows 8 Pro - not activation

Here's my problem.

I had Windows 8 Pro Portable one. I was using the developer preview of Windows 8.1 for awhile now.
Now that the final version of W8.1 will be available next month, I thought to install Windows 8 and put my phone to receive 8.1.
But now, the Pro 8 Win is not activating. I get a message that says that the key is not valid, and I need to get another key.
Is it because I had Win Pro 8 approximately 2-3 months back that has been activated and I try to turn it on again?
If this is the case, how can I get this product active now and download the Windows Pro 8.1 for me that I am eligible?
I know there are a lot of questions related to that, but please reply or give me a link where I can find an appropriate response.

Try again by phone:

1. press the Windows key + X , and then clickrun, and then type: slui.exe 4

2. then press the ENTER"" key.

3. Select your "country" in the list.

4. choose the option "activate phone".

5. stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

6. explain your problem clearly to the support person.

Please note:

To install a Windows 8 upgrade version, you must already have Windows 7, Windows Vista, or Windows XP installed on your PC.

If you have formatted the drive until the upgrade of Windows 8 version has been installed, you will not be able to use your upgrade product key to activate Windows 8. To activate Windows 8, you will need to install your previous version of Windows, and then reinstall Windows 8. Help with the activation process, contact technical support.

I suggest that you use the telephone method to activate. In a command prompt (ADMIN), type Slui 4, choose your country and follow the instructions. When connected to an automatic connection say or do nothing until you are transferred to a technician to live and then explain in detail your problem and it should be able to help to activate your computer. Hope this helps and if you need any additional aid station and we will be happy to help you.

  • Windows 7 Pro upgrade Activation issue.

Windows 7 Pro upgrade Activation issue. I bought a real upgrade of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit. In reading, there is no way I could actually update my current installation of XP and keep all the settings, I decided to just reformat my hard drive and install windows 7 as a custom install fees. Now, I can't activate Windows 7 because it claims that I do not have a version of windows installed on this hard drive. Is it possible (armed with my XP and Windows 7 product keys) I can activate my software? Or should I go through the hassle to format my drive again, stick XP on it simply to crush it with Windows 7 so I can activate it? Feels like a bit of an oversight for XP to 7 plants of valuation. Thanks for any help you can offer!

    N.

Skip entering your product key Windows 7 and complete the installation.

When you reach the desktop, click Start, right-click on computer

    Click on properties

Scroll down to the Windows Activation

Click the link x days before activation.

Click on the link that says: "show me other ways to activate.

    Enter the product key

    Click next

Select the Activation of the phone

Click Next when you enter your key page

    Select your country

Click Next, call the number listed

Be sure to explain your situation to the Appeals Officer.

Provide the installation generated when ID requested by the call agent

They give a confirmation ID in return, enter it

Click next to complete the activation.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

After 4 years of use my computer without any problems at all, I get a message saying that my copy of Windows Vista is NOT activated.

Of course, he was and has been deleted now tile view! I made no changes to anything on the computer, so I did a little research

and found that it could be a virus trying to get 'paid' for a new activation code. I did a complete reinstall of Vista to remove

such viruses or errors and it still say my copy of Vista is not activated. When I try to follow the steps to activate Vista,

I got nowhere! Everything I've read say s do the activation of the phone, but my computer doesn't give me the option of phone!

It gives me only 3 options - "Buy a new online product key", "Enter a different product key", "Contact Hewllet Packard to help solve this problem."

I called HP and of course my warranty has expired and they even want to talk to me about $100! I'm going crazy trying to figure this out! Help someone?

  • EliteBook 2570p: Windows 7 Pro OEM activation error after reinstall onto the new HARD drive

    Greetings!

I had to replace my laptop HARD drive and then clean installed windows iso downloads, burned on a dvd.

I first tried Windows 10 (build 1511), then Windows 7 Pro 64 bit with SP1. Or activate using the key OEM COA sticker.

I tried MS activation of phone also, but they said that they could not generate a confirmation key. They tried to transfer me to "get windows up and running support" but could not get through.

The first activation says invalid key without being connected to the internet, which makes me wonder if there is an inconsistency between my product key and SLIC data, (which I do not have much understanding).

The service 'Ask Tech' at Microsoft tried to sell me a license at a high cost, which I don't think I should need because I have the license OEM Windows 10 retail.

I don't have HP recovery disks (and did not expect to need).

    Any advice would be welcome!

(the location is the South Africa)

The problem is that you should NOT use Win7 ISO downloads to reinstall your PC.  Given that your PC came with a preinstalled HP Win7 OEM version, and is NOT available for download, I have to assume that what you used to reinstall a retail version.

And the problem is that the commercial version only lights up with a retail key.  The product key that came with your PC and is printed on the COA sticker, is a key to OEM HP product - and that cannot be used to activate any other than the version from HP OEM version of Win7.

Your best bet at this point, is to restore your PC using HP recovery media - and then perform the upgrade of Win10 after that.

It is a DVD and CD set that will erase the hard drive (removing all data, applications and settings, reinstall the original OS, drivers and utilities for HP. In some cases, you will be able to order a USB instead of discs.  You must order at HP; they cannot be downloaded.

You can look online for recovery from the paged media related: http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers

Once there, enter your product name or number. On your software page and download the drivers, select your operating system and version. Click on "Update".  If the HP recovery support is available for your computer, down near the bottom of the page, you will see an entry for the command Recovery Media-CD/DVD/USB. Click on the symbol '+' to expand this entty and click on order to press for more details.

Or, if you prefer, you can do the same by contacting HP Customer Service:

If you live in the United States or the Canada, details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/phone-assist.html#section1

If you live elsewhere, contact details are on this page: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/contact-hp/ww-contact-us.html

Note that if HP no longer provides a recovery media for your model, a few other sites, you can check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

    Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

  • Windows 7 purchased, not activated/validated in the allotted time... help?

Hello! I need to know if there is a way to activate a copy of Windows 7 Professional of after-market facility. My boyfriend bought a laptop about 8 months ago at a friend. His friend has installed a new operating system before selling. Boyfriend is not very gifted in computer science and has not activated within 30 days of activation-registration/product key, because he never uses the laptop. He has paid the initial Windows 7 Professional OS (about $70, as he recollects), but we can talk to the friend, he bought the laptop from the (contracting companies in the Australian Outback), incommunicado. I am now unable to activate/register the Windows 7 operating system and wonder if it is possible to get the OS enabled without having to buy a new OS. I recently bought and installed 2 licenses for Windows OS 8.1 to 2 separate notebooks for me and my son and I would hope to avoid adding another bill of $120 for a new OS installation. • Windows 8 Pro not mounting ISO image

I have problems of mounting iso images of Windows 8 for a few days now. I looked at the wire

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_8-performance/ISO-image-mounting-problems-under-Windows-8-Pro/cf9123c1-c8fa-4A01-a8e7-925fdb68d0b1
but the solution it does not solve my problem. When I run the SFC scan it stops at 37% and said it cannot continue, without any other explanation. I run 3 times and it's always the same.
I even tried to do a refresh of the system, and when I do this I get an error. He reads
    systemreset.exe - incorrect Image
C:\Windows\system32\VirtDisk.dll is not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. blah blah. 0xc0000020 error status.
Other forums have suggested to install other programs that can mount iso images. However, I do not think that should I need to do that if the BONE is supposed to support iso editing on its own.
    Thanks in advance

just copy the file to another folder and rename... voila...

my computer needs a certain seriouus attention! She claims to be protected, but then it says windows defender does not work as well as many other services when I click the Activate button it gives me an error message indicating that there is not or not installed or is not found... another custom of services on a local computer... just someone can tell me how to undo all the damage that ive done to this pc? Ive even paid 49.99 toshiba to supposedly restore it to factory settings, but even that did not work... I desperately need some security because my daughter use it for homeschooling... I need the directions accurate, clear, step by step on what to do... Thank you

Thanks for your reply. Could you tell me how to back up files and important documents to lose before you do the restore?

    It's pretty easy:
    1. Click Start, click Help, and then search for help on "Backup". Familiarize yourself with the concepts explained in there.
    2. Buy a 4 or a flash drive 8 GB ("USB key") for about $10.00.
    3. Connect it to your laptop.
    4. Open Control Panel / backup and restore.
    5. Back up your data on the flash drive.
    6. Take the flash for a friend PC drive.
    7. Restoring a few files to ensure that you can open them.
    8. After the factory restore, restore the data from the flash drive.
    9. Use the flash drive in the future as your regular backup media. Remember that all important files should be backed up - without exception!
