HP ProBook 650 G1: HP 2012 W90 - A7E32AA Docking Station

Hello

I have recvently had my laptop re-inaged to a 64-bit version of Windows 7 (HP ProBook 650 G1).

I use it with a HP 2012 W90 - A7E32AA Docking Station, with monitor, keyboard and mouse attached.

Since the new image, I can't have the mouse or the keybouard to work with the docking station (the monitor does not work).

The mouse and keyboard work when plugged directly into USB port on the laptop.

I tried to find a suitable driver for the docking via the HP site and google, but all sources lead me in circles and eventually to nothing so far.

I hope someone can help? The new driver may still not solve the problem, but it's a process of elimination, unless someone knows of another solution?

Thanks in advance,

CJW

You should not have drivers for the docking... all USB ports on this subject are USB 3.0... Windows 7 requires a USB 3.0 driver. To the person who reimagee your hard drive installing the USB driver 3.0?

Any part of the dock works? It loads the laptop? I see that the monitor work through the dock docking station is not dead.

When the laptop is connected you see evidence of it in the Device Manager?

    Hello

I was wondering if it is possible to connect my Elitebook 8570w to an A7e32AA Docking Station. In the description on the HP website (http://h30094.www3.hp.com/product/sku/10432926-) it says that the 8570 p doesn't work on it.

And I read that the 8570p and 8570w have the same docking connector (spring of other available docking stations that work for both of these laptops).

    Hello

I'm sorry. If you want to only use 150W PSU for the docking station then no problem, but if you want to use 90W PSU for your machine (which needs 150W) 90W can't drive your machine as expected.

  • HP Probook 650 G1: How to disable the keys way to Probook 650 G1 running Windows 7, 64-bit

    I just bought a HP Probook G1, intel i7 650 - 4600 m, system BIOS 01.34-08/28/2015, keyboard review KBC 16.3 C version.

ESC and F1 through F12 function keys seem to be in the Mode of action key (for example flight gives HP, F6 system information allows you to change the audio levels, etc.)- and I prefer to keep the standard functions of these keys (for shortcuts in Word and Excel, also for Express Scribe transcription software).

I found Ctrl + Fn + the function key corresponding is workaround to achieve some (but not all) the standard functions - but which is cumbersome when used frequently. Workaround doesn't seem to work for the ESC key.

I saw a few tips on how to disable the Mode keys on some laptops HP - eg
    http://support.HP.com/au-en/document/c02035108

    - and I have used this method on the previous laptop HP (e.g. Pavilion G6), but it does not work for this Probook. The configuration screen of the BIOS on my new machine does not seem to show the key Action Mode (or same System Configuration) as an option.

I would be grateful for suggestions.

Problem is now resolved, thanks to HP Technical Support phone line. Their tips were:

    * go to the BIOS Setup in the usual way (shut down, then power on, press ESC, choose F10 for Bios configuration)

    * Choose the Information System

    * arrow above to advance

    * Choose the Configuration of the device

    * Uncheck the Fn key switch

    * Save, etc.

The corresponding option is more referred to Action Mode button for this model of HP laptop, at least not for the version of BIOS this Probook 650 G1 (worm 1.36, 25/04/2016).

  • ProBook 650 G2: Core i7 6600U processor is only TWO CŒURS - evolution options?

    I recently got a HP Probook 650 G2.

I 'wanted' the Probook for her one of the last phones built with serial port RS-232 'real' on board.

I also wanted a quad core processor and would never have dreamed that a modern range high processor would double heart.

BUT... I was surprised that the Core i7 laptop 6600U my new computer processor is only has TWO CŒURS and the cache 4megs.

    Ugh!

That's when I remembered that ASSUMES is synonymous of...

Then, when I went to the site of HP to check and sure enough, all i3, i5, and i7 is all dual-core.

The only exception was the 6820HQ i7, which is a quad core processor, 8megs of the cache and features of the integrated Intel HD Graphics 530.

I don't know how much better the Intel HD Graphics 530 on Intel HD Graphics 520 which came with my unit.

Can a person spend power sipping dual core i7 in a muscle stronger, bending, gulping, four hearts, 8 power + megs of processor cache?

    The CPU is socketed?

My current motherboard accepts a processor 68xxHQ?

Should I think with the CPU stronger than using more power than a heatsink / fan different?

    My adapter work?

The easiest way would be to buy a NEW laptop with the card I want, but it quite late for this.

This Probook G2 650 was not cheap, and if I go to the boss for more of $, $$$ for another laptop... Well, it wouldn't be nice.

Your comments, suggestions, opinions, and the flames are all welcome!

See p. 24 of the manual here.

    Manual

See the long list of motherboards, each of which includes a processor? You asked if the processor is nested? No, it's not and it's the end of the upgrade quest, unless you traded the motherboard. I guess just the motherboard with i7-6820HQ is going to be well over $ 1000. How about almost $1500?

Before you throw stones at the 'simple' dual core i7 in your laptop, consider that it carries almost on par with a high range of 4th gen core quad.

    http://cpuboss.com/CPUs/Intel-Core-I7-6600U-vs-Intel-Core-I7-4850HQ

High modern processors of range, especially in laptops, must also take account of energy consumption. Of course, a Quad Core Skylake will be still more than a beast. Video Intel 530 is a minor improvement on the 520 to the execution units, speed of clock and gflops as shown below:

    HD 520 graphics cardGT2241050403.2
    Graphics HD 530GT2241150441.6

The graphics of the Iris is where it begins to be significantly better.

If find you a way to talk to the boss into something again consider the Zbook G3 series. It can be fitted with up to a Quad-Core Xeon, but even those that are welded on. It seems to be the trend. I think that power management got so delicate that it is difficult to prevent the loss of power by any sort of a processor of half-bridge and everything should be as thin as possible for consumers, even cell phones from the muscle work station.

  • HP ProBook 650 G1: upgrade to a backlit keyboard on a laptop HP 650 G1

    Hello

I recently bought a HP ProBook 650 G1 laptop. This model does not have a backlit keyboard and I would like to upgrade one.

From what I've read on the internet on this laptop motherboard supports a keyboard backlit (the model is HM87 Intel) and also on a PDF detailed on the HP site describing this model it is said and I quote "Optional backlit keyboard.

Can someone tell me which keyboard should I buy? Because I can't find online. Can you give me a reference number of the backlit keyboard for this model?

Or a reference to a compatible model number. I guess maybe a backlit keyboard of a different model of the laptop must be compatible with mine. I found laptops with similar keyboards like mine but backlited (as hp envy 17) but I don't know if they are compatible.

Sorry for my bad English. I hope that you will help me find a solution.

    Thank you!

The current store (which still offers this model) does not list an optional backlit keyboard. The backlit keyboard part is not listed in the manual. It's as if they plan to offer that he decided to do not. About all you can do strip up to the motherboard and see if the header is there. Without that, it's a show-stopper. If it is there, the keyboard that would work would be a keyboard of another model of 15 inches and I don't know who it is.

  • HP Probook 650 G1 - removable DVD drive?

    Hello

I'm planning on buying a G1 650 Probook. I thought besides that remove the DVD player (or other it without it) and install an additional HARD drive in place.

My main question is to know if the DVD drive is removable at all. In the pdf specifications I found online is not so clear the description, at least for me , see below:

"Removable storage fixed 9." 5 mm SATA optical drive: Blu - ray ROM DVD +/-RW SuperMulti DL; DVD +/-RW SuperMulti double layer; DVD-ROM ".

    So is removable or fixed?

In addition, if it can be removed, is it worth all the different configurations of HW on this model, or only to a small number?

Thank you very much in advance. Can't wait to get the new laptop

  • HP ProBook 650 G1 and biometric on Windows 8.1

    Hello guys,.

    A friend currently has a problem with a laptop ProBook 650 G1 with Windows Pro 8.1 (64-bit).

Cannot use the biometric Windows logon for reader - although this feature is natively built on this version.

Even when the Validity Sensor driver is correctly installed (device looks OK in the Windows Device Manager), the system does not seem to detect it and this function does not appear in the account settings.

I tried to install several other versions of the driver, nothing changes.

In addition, the installation of HP Device Access Manager does not work.

It displays an error near the end of the installation process, and then restore files.

I did some research on several forums and other sites, but I have not yet found a solution.

However, this type of connection is very useful, especially on a professional laptop.

So I find it hard to believe that HP have never been faced with this problem before.

Maybe one of you can help me to solve it.

    Thank you in advance.

Problem solved by using the procedure described on this site:

    http://shangwuq.blogspot.fr/2014/10/my-HP-EliteBook-850-G1-was-preinstalled.html

The biometric reader now appears as "validity sensors (WBF) (PID = 003f)" to the title of the type "Biometric devices" in Device Manager and fingerprint menu configuration is available as a connection option in the menu account management.

Note: I installed the driver manually the file wbf_vfs_003f.inf.

    Hello!

Research on the specs of the laptop:

    650 1 Spec proBook

Seems that support 90w and 120w docking station and have the docking port. But go to the accessory page of the laptop it shows as compatible port replicator only the USB3 HP 3005pr (H1L08AA). Also goes in the pages of support of the 90w and 120w docking the 1 650 is not listed as compatible.

So, can I use 90w or 120w docking with the laptop or I need to use the Port Replicator port usb3?

    Thank you!

Although the site shows Dock compatible, HP 3005pr, you can go ahead and use the 90w or 120w docking station.

The laptop is compatible with 90w or 120w docking station as well.

Yes, this was a limitation for awhile. The video controller in the laptop is the pull-out to the dock and it is capable of only configuration "dual head" If you get the screen of the laptop and the screen more.
