My Photosmart HP 5510 repeatedly do not print and says it is offline
I tried a hard reset several times: IE in pulling cord exit printer & on the wall. Wait 60 seconds & then reinstall. It worked before but not this time. The PC can not simply see the printer to print even if the printer appears clearly in devices & my printer as the default printer. Please help - I have a big project to do & I don't want to have to buy a new one.

Yes, I was referring to manually clean the print head. I see that the 5510 lacks the possibility of leaving the print head manually.
You can click on the menu of your SETUP program on your screen and go to TOOLS and clean the print head from there.
If this does not resolve your problem, you may need to replace the print head.

Photosmart 5510 not printing and noises when toggled or asked to print?
About 6 months ago, we purchased our printer HP Photosmart 5510 alongside our Touchsmart computer, and so far, both work fine.
However, there are a few weeks at random, when I sent a document to print, the printer started making a very loud noise, sounding almost as if he was that something stuck in the back there. Only to make the noise stop, I cancelled the printing and has turned off, which again triggers intense noise. This back on once again, he made the same noise and, before moving on to the usual display a notice on the monitor of printer flashed by saying that the device had extinguished itself incorrectly.
It lasts for a few weeks now, and after having scoured your Web site for all the details, I couldn't find anything on this issue. After detecting that other factors may have come into it, I watched some of your videos on how to fix etc. paper jams. After pulling some paper in the back, I thought the culprit of all this, the message on the monitor said he had a 'ink cartridge problem' or could not detect the paper, even if we just replaced the ink and I have to reload the paper. I watched the videos of these two problems troubleshooting and tried 20 seconds thing etc, but nothing worked.
Really, I'm so frustrated and I would like a little help from a very kind person out there?

It seems that there is a problem with the power of the printer mechanism paper. If the unit was loud noises, then it might be a part out of alignment or a piece of paper caught in the unit. However, you mentioned the continuation of the measures is stuck, remove the paper, and now the printer gives error ink system.
I will provide documentation of troubleshooting below for the two issues, but if these steps don't erase the question then I would advise to contact HP Technical Support on this printer. Is it is only 6 months old, then it would still be under warranty by the original manufacturer.

I just installed a new Photosmart 5510 B111a.

Solved my problem. I read in this forum there is a PRINT CLEANING of HEAD which can be done on the printer, but must be done from the computer. He is not one of the options on the touch screen of the printer. When I ran to the printhead cleaning twice, that solved the problem. The yellow ink began printing very well. It looks like the new printhead just need to be cleaned once or twice.

We will try to get the 4400 on first. I guess that's a C4400 and installation of USB. Unplug the USB cable (if a network installation to ignore it). Click the Windows Start, click devices and printers. The C4400 right-click and choose Remove the instrument. Now go to the link below and download your driver.

I understand that you are having problems with the black does not print, you have replaced the printhead to another printer and it prints fine. I want to help you.
I'm assuming that you used the same cartridges in the print head when you try them in another printer, let me know if you didn't like it.
Given that the new printhead works in another unit, it seems that it would be a problem with the hardware with the printer and it would need to be repaired.

I came across your questions and we have a solution for this and you can try it, but which apply only on the error codes starting with "0xC18A" one with «0xc19a»
Try the following steps for Photosmart C5100 series under which you printer falls.
A. - Press and hold the "left arrow" key
B. - Press the "Setup" key and release both keys.
Display should say "enter special key Combo".
C. - Press and release the OK"" button.Display should say "Support" and display the FW rev (something like R0631R)
Press and release the right arrow button until the display shows "Menu of the System Configuration'.
Press and release the OK"" button.
Display should say "hardware failure status. If it isn't there already, arrow above for "Hardware failure status"
Press and release the OK"" button.
Display should say "hardware failure status: clear." Press OK to erase.
Press and release the OK"" button. Message becomes "hardware failure (breakdowns) resolved state. Press Cancel to continue.
Press and release the "CANCEL" button as many times as necessary, so that, either the "Welcome to Photosmart Express" screen appears, or, the 'ink system failure' is displayed. DON'T TRY TO PRINT AT THIS STAGE.
Using the power button, turn the power off and unplug the power cable from the back of the printer output and the wall.
Wait 30 seconds for the power to get discharged and then plug the power cable into the wall outlet first, and then to the back of the printer
Switch on the device. The printer may display message "USE POWER BUTTON CLOSING the PRINTER" followed by "Press OK TO CONTINUE". Press OK.
If the printer has already initialized, then go to the next step. If this isn't the case, the printer will start the "ONE TIME INK initialization PROCESS". Allow this process to do and not to interrupt. Once the initialization is completed, the printer print a Diagnostic page.
To check, features of the printer print a PAGE of TEST car. If SELF TEST prints, then printer is ready for use or installation of the software.
If the error is still there, or reoccurs replace the unit.
